BMG announces Year of the Devil a multi-configuration celebration of the 40th  Anniversary of Mötley Crüe’s landmark second album,

Shout the Devil is the centrepiece of Year of the Devil and it is a Limited Edition Super Deluxe Box Set which features the newly remastered album on LP, CD and Cassette.

Also included are reproductions of the original 7” singles of “Too Young To Fall In Love” and “Looks That Kill” alongside a Pentagram Séance Board, Devil Board w/Metal Planchette, Metal 7” Adapter, album art lithographs, tarot cards, devil candle holder and more.  In addition, 7 rare demo tracks have been resurrected and are included as Shout at the Demos & Rarities.

Originally released in 1983 at the height of the Satanic Panic, Shout at the Devil catapulted Mötley Crüe to superstardom. Delivering on the hype and promise of their platinum debut, Too Fast For Love, Mötley Crüe’s second album hit the US Top 20 and was certified 4x platinum. For many music fans, Shout at the Devil was the first time they witnessed an album with this imagery and lyrical content on mainstream retail shelves.

Shout at the Devil continues to be a cornerstone of Mötley Crüe’s live set, with the band playing up to 4 songs from this iconic album at every show of the World Tour which is currently underway. Fittingly, the original touring cycle for this album saw Mötley Crüe jump from opening act to full on arena headliners.

The ground-breaking music videos for “Looks That Kill” and “Too Young To Fall In Love” set the standard for countless MTV moments. Those two singles, combined with the sinister title track, reckless cuts like “Knock ‘Em Dead, Kid”, “Bastard” and “Red Hot”, their frenzied take on “Helter Skelter” and the haunting nearly instrumental “God Bless The Children Of The Beast” helped create this era- and genre-defining album.

Music Label Curaga Records has just announced that they’re jumping into the world of Nintendo’s very own Mario with a brand new LoFi album, Video Game LoFi: Super Mario 64.

From artists 88bit and Save Point, Video Game LoFi: Super Mario 64 is a nostalgic tribute to Koji Kondo’s beloved soundtrack. With gorgeous piano arrangements, warm analog synths and colorful re-harmonization, the album features 11 tracks that fuse cozy beats and reimagined melodies with jazzy LoFi undertones.

“This was a truly collaborative effort,” says artist 88bit, “I’m so glad Save Point approached me about making this with him. This album gave me an opportunity to take the Super Mario 64 songs and reshape and present them in a new light – chill lo-fi.”

88 bit goes on to say how the album has given the songs a unique transformation while staying true to the original. “I’m excited for many of my friends in the VGM community to listen to these tracks. And I’m hopeful that these songs will find their way to people all over, and that those who love the music from Super Mario 64 (and even those who may not be familiar) will enjoy these recordings as much as we’ve enjoyed making them.”

Artist Save Point had this today about this collaborative album, “We wanted to be as authentic as we possibly could with this album and I love the final result. We only used analog synths, the Prophet 5 and Novation Peak, to really capture that warm feeling. Each track has live piano, guitar, and percussion. I wanted these tracks to feel like you’re having a genuine conversation with an old friend. It really felt like 88bit and I were on the same page from the beginning with our goal to craft something unique and comfy.”

This holiday season, perennial favorite A Charlie Brown Christmas makes its return to cassette tape for the first time in three decades.

Due out November the 5th, 2021 on Craft Recordings and available for pre-order today, this collectible, silver-colored cassette is limited to 5,000 units worldwide and makes the perfect stocking stuffer for PEANUTS fans of any age.

The timeless soundtrack to the enduring, 1965 television special features a host of yuletide standards from the Vince Guaraldi Trio, plus such originals as “Christmas Time Is Here” and the iconic “Linus and Lucy.” Click here to watch the release trailer.

The cassette serves as a companion piece to the recently announced “Silver Foil” vinyl edition of A Charlie Brown Christmas, which reimagines the album’s classic white cover with a stunning, embossed silver foil jacket.

Available October 1st 2021, the limited pressing can be found in several vinyl color variants at select retailers, while fans can pre-order a festive glitter-infused clear vinyl edition exclusively on Craft Recordings’ official store.

On December 9, 1965, A Charlie Brown Christmas aired on TV screens across America and instantly captured the hearts and ears of a generation. Bolstering the animated special, based on Charles M. Schulz’s immensely popular PEANUTS comic strip, was an engaging score from Bay Area jazz artist Vince Guaraldi, who brought characters like Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Snoopy to life through his evocative cues.

Working primarily with bassist Fred Marshall and drummer Jerry Granelli, Guaraldi paired inspired interpretations of traditional holiday fare (“O Tannenbaum,” “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing,” and “What Child Is This”) with original compositions, including the instantly recognizable “Linus and Lucy” theme, “Skating,” and “Christmas Time Is Here.” The latter song, available as both an instrumental and vocal track, featured young choral singers from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in San Rafael, CA.

More than five decades later, the Emmy and Peabody-winning animated classic now streams on Apple TV+ and has spawned more than two dozen subsequent PEANUTS specials.

Guaraldi’s soundtrack, meanwhile, has since become one of the best-selling jazz albums in history, second only to Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue, and regularly ranks among America’s top-selling holiday albums every December.

In 2016, A Charlie Brown Christmas was certified 4x platinum by the RIAA, while last year, A Charlie Brown Christmas entered the Billboard 200’s Top Ten for the very first time, 55 years after its initial release.

The album has also been inducted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame and added to the Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry.
