The shutdown date for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has now been officially confirmed. Activision has announced that the game’s servers will go offline on April 17, 2026, after which the mobile battle royale will no longer be playable.

As a final step in the previously communicated service changes to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, the servers for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will go offline on April 17, 2026.

We’re incredibly grateful to our community who dropped in and showed up for us! This decision does not… pic.twitter.com/YIzmOCyhlM

— Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile (@WarzoneMobile) February 16, 2026

The update was shared via the official Warzone Mobile social channels on February 16, 2026, and backed up by a detailed support page outlining exactly what players can expect in the final weeks before the game goes dark.

Servers Going Offline In April 2026

According to Activision’s support statement, April 17, 2026 marks the final day Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be accessible. Players who still have the game installed can continue playing and engaging with existing content until that date.

After April 17, the servers will be permanently shut down. The game will no longer be available for play in any form.

This confirmation follows service changes first announced in May 2025, when Warzone Mobile was removed from Google Play and Apple’s App Store. At that time, Activision ended new seasonal content, stopped gameplay updates, and discontinued in-app purchases using real currency.

The April 2026 shutdown is described as the “final step” in those previously communicated service changes.

Why Warzone Mobile Is Being Taken Offline

In an accompanying FAQ, Activision directly addressed the reason behind the decision.

The company stated that while it was proud of bringing an authentic Call of Duty: Warzone experience to mobile, the game “did not meet our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences.”

That wording lines up with broader reporting from outlets including GameSpot and Engadget, both of which noted that support effectively ended nearly a year ago. The title has not received new content since mid-2025 and has not been available for new downloads since its store removal.

Despite early ambitions for the project, including comments in 2024 from Activision mobile co-head Chris Plummer about expanding Call of Duty’s reach across platforms, the mobile version ultimately struggled to replicate Warzone’s success on PC and consoles.

What Happens To Accounts And COD Points

Activision’s support page also clarifies what players need to know before shutdown day.

Guest accounts will no longer be accessible once the servers go offline. Activision accounts themselves will still exist, but they will no longer be accessible through Warzone Mobile. They remain usable across other Activision titles and websites.

Real-money purchases were disabled on May 19, 2025. Players who still have the game installed can spend any remaining COD Points in the in-game store until April 17, 2026. After that date, unused COD Points will no longer be accessible.

Refunds will not be offered for previously purchased content or unused COD Points.

Players who previously bought in-game items can continue using that content until the shutdown date, provided the game remains installed on their device.

Reinstallation is not possible, as Warzone Mobile has been delisted from both Google Play and the App Store since May 2025.

Alternatives For Mobile Players

While Warzone Mobile is coming to an end, Activision has reiterated that its broader mobile strategy remains intact.

Call of Duty: Mobile continues to receive seasonal updates and recently launched a new season featuring a fresh Battle Pass, map variant, and additional features. The standalone mobile title includes Battle Royale, Multiplayer, Zombies, and the extraction-based DMZ: Recon mode.

For players wanting the full Warzone experience, Call of Duty: Warzone remains free to play on PC and consoles including Xbox, PlayStation, Battle.net, and Steam.

Activision closed its shutdown announcement by thanking the Warzone Mobile community for its support and emphasised that player feedback continues to shape the future of the franchise.

With just a couple of months remaining until April 17, 2026, the final circle is approaching for Warzone Mobile. Anyone still holding onto COD Points or unfinished matches may want to drop in while they still can.

Group A features none other than the defending world champions, Elevate, who continue to dominate the competitive COD Mobile scene. The North American powerhouse has maintained its core roster since 2023 and remains nearly unstoppable since its flawless 2024 run. Elevate famously defeated China’s Qing Jiu Club in both the 2024 Summer Invitational and last year’s World Championship to claim back-to-back titles.

Speaking of Qing Jiu Club, the Chinese squad returns with a revamped line-up after that heartbreaking grand final loss, now featuring veteran player Kong ‘Dchen’ Zhuyu, who has been competing since 2019. With three new faces, the team is looking to rewrite its story this season.

Meanwhile, Wolves also enter the tournament as serious contenders. The Chinese organisation, which lifted the World Championship trophy back in 2023, is back with two of its title-winning players and recently claimed the 2025 Major earlier this year.

Another name to watch is Stalwart Esports, a Filipino team and long-time rival of Elevate. The squad made headlines after toppling the world champions at Garena Masters Season 9 last July, proving that the kings can bleed.

As for the tournament format, all teams will begin in a GSL-style group stage, where the top two from each group advance to the double-elimination play-offs. Every match leading up to the grand final will be a best-of-five, with the final showdown extending to a best-of-seven to crown the 2025 world champion.

The competition in Katowice is shaping up to be an all-out clash of titans, and with heavyweights like Elevate, Wolves, Stalwart, and Qing Jiu Club in the mix, fans can expect nothing less than explosive action all weekend long.

The Major, which kicked off in July and wrapped up on 14 September, is Asia’s biggest COD Mobile league. Thirteen of the region’s best teams battled it out for their share of a ¥2.2 million (around £226,900) prize pool, alongside coveted slots at the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2025 in Katowice, Poland.

Wolves’ Road to the Title

Competing under the name Chongqing.Wolves after a major investment and the launch of a new training facility in the city, Wolves made an almost flawless run through the event.

They dominated Stage 1 to advance directly into the Masters Group, where a solid 3–2 record booked their spot in the Seat Decider bracket. From there, they hit their stride with a 5–0 record in Stage 3, locking in a playoff berth.

Wolves then dispatched Stand Point Gaming and Q9 to reach the Grand Final, where they once again faced Q9. This time, Wolves sealed the deal with a convincing 4–2 victory, adding yet another trophy to their growing collection.

Back-to-Back Glory

This win marks Wolves’ fourth league title and a successful defence of their Major crown, making them back-to-back champions. Alongside the championship trophy, they also pocketed roughly $92,000 from the prize pool.

Star player Anzai was once again named season MVP, further solidifying his reputation as the best COD Mobile player in the world. What makes the achievement even more impressive is that three of Wolves’ starting players, Rise, Sounds and Wind, were all rookies just last season. They’ve more than proven themselves, filling the big shoes left by former veterans and helping the team lose only two maps out of 19 played across the tournament.

Eyes on Katowice

The Major victory means Wolves will now set their sights on the COD Mobile World Championship 2025 in November. They’ll be joined by fellow Chinese squads Q9 and Stand Point Gaming, with China sending three of its strongest rosters to Poland.

The Championship will feature 16 teams split into four groups of four, battling through a GSL-style group stage before heading into a double-elimination playoff bracket. The Grand Final will be a best-of-seven showdown, with the upper bracket team earning a one-map advantage.

Wolves already have pedigree on the world stage, having won the Championship back in 2023. With their current form, an MVP leading the charge, and rookies playing like seasoned pros, Wolves Esports will be among the favourites to lift the trophy in Katowice.

This marks the first time Stage 5 of COD: Mobile esports will be held in Europe. Last year’s World Championship took place in Atlanta, Georgia, where Elevate claimed the crown. Now, Katowice’s famous Spodek Arena, already a legendary venue thanks to years of hosting Counter-Strike’s Intel Extreme Masters, will be the battleground.

The competing teams haven’t been locked in yet. Regional finals and qualifiers are still underway across North America, Europe, LATAM, India, Japan, and Africa, with each region fighting for a spot at the year’s biggest mobile esports event.

Call of Duty: Mobile has been a powerhouse since launching in October 2019, pulling in around 30 million daily active players according to ActivePlayer.io. While it hasn’t quite matched the viewership highs of its PC and console siblings, it’s carved out its own loyal and competitive community.

Whether you’re a long-time CODM fan or just curious to see how mobile shooters play out on the world stage, the 2025 Finals in Katowice are shaping up to be a can’t-miss weekend.
