Gallaxia brings together 50 gaming creators from across multiple titles, each of whom holds unique benefits through Gallaxium Bars. These digital assets connect creators directly to revenue from every future Gallaxia game, creating a shared stake in the studio’s long-term success.

Levinho, now a co-owner of Gallaxia, says the project is redefining how game studios should operate. He emphasised that everything is being built in real time with the community, ensuring the final product reflects the people who support it.

Illuvium and Immutable are stepping firmly into the esports spotlight with the launch of the Immutable Masters Illuvium Pro League (IPL). The first big event in the series, the IPL 1000, kicks off on 3 October with open qualifiers and a $20,000 prize pool on the line.

The Main Event follows on 4 October and marks Illuvium’s largest tournament outside its annual World Event. Beyond just one competition, the IPL 1000 is the opening act in a broader $250,000 seasonal prize commitment, backed by a massive $14 million fund set aside for future esports growth.

A New Competitive Structure

The Illuvium Pro League is split into three tiers: IPL 250, IPL 500, and IPL 1000. Each tier offers a different level of competition, prize money, and qualification points. The IPL 1000 sits at the top, handing out the biggest rewards and the most points towards the season-ending Main Event in December, which features a $150,000 prize pool.

While IPL 250 and 500 events remain more accessible, the IPL 1000 is invite-only and limited to 64 players, making it a showcase for the best talent the scene has to offer. Players will battle it out inside Illuvium Arena, the game’s autobattler where drafting and positioning teams of creatures called Illuvials is the key to victory.

Building Esports for Web3

Illuvium Arena is designed not just for the players but also for spectators, with gameplay tailored for exciting viewing. Immutable’s role goes far beyond lending its name, as the company is providing blockchain infrastructure, marketing support, and its Immutable Play ecosystem to help Illuvium reach audiences outside the Web3 niche.

Immutable Co-Founder Robbie Ferguson highlighted the long-running partnership, recalling Illuvium’s first pitch back in 2020. “Building multiple titles into a single world, all tied together with on-chain assets, was bold, but it made sense to us. We’ve been excited to back them ever since,” he said.

Illuvium CEO Kieran Warwick added that the IPL is about proving Web3 titles can compete on the same stage as mainstream esports. “The IPL 1000 isn’t just about a $20,000 tournament; it’s the first major step in showing Web3 games can sit shoulder-to-shoulder with the biggest esports titles in the world,” he explained.

The Road to December

The IPL season runs through to December, giving competitors several opportunities to earn qualification points across different events. Out of 64 spots in the December Main Event, 48 will be earned through these tournaments, while the rest will be filled through Last Call, Last Chance, Wildcard, and Ranked Leaderboard Points pathways.

The December Main Event itself is split over two weekends. On 6 December, 64 players will compete to make it into the final 16, who will then return on 13 December for the Grand Finals. Alongside the $150,000 prize pool, rewards include unique cosmetics such as Season 1 borders, emotes, Illuvitars, and battleboards for the top 32 finishers.

The Bigger Picture

With $14 million already earmarked for future prize pools, the Immutable Masters Illuvium Pro League isn’t a one-off. It’s part of a larger push to establish blockchain-powered games in the competitive esports space, alongside Immutable’s expansion into mobile gaming.

For both fans and players, the IPL 1000 marks a bold start to what could become one of the most significant Web3 esports leagues yet.
