The BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026 playoff bracket has officially been confirmed, with the group stage now wrapped up and six teams heading to the Ahoy Arena in the Netherlands for the final stage of the tournament.

With heavy hitters already waiting in the semi-finals and some high-stakes rematches lined up in the quarters, the road to the trophy is shaping up to be a serious test for every team still in contention.

Playoff Bracket Confirmed After Group Stage

Following the conclusion of the group stage in Copenhagen, the remaining teams have locked in their positions for the Rotterdam playoffs.

According to BLAST Premier’s official announcement, the bracket is now set, confirming both the quarter-final matchups and the semi-final structure. Six teams will compete on stage in front of a live crowd at the Ahoy Arena, marking the shift from studio play to arena competition.

The MongolZ secured the final playoff spot in dramatic fashion, with Ayush “mzinho” Batbold delivering a standout performance to push his team past Spirit. That result not only kept their tournament run alive but also finalised the bracket heading into Rotterdam.

Quarter-Finals Feature A High-Stakes Rematch

The opening round of the playoffs will feature two best-of-three clashes, both with strong storylines behind them.

Aurora will take on The MongolZ in what will be the first match on stage. The Mongolian squad comes in with momentum after their elimination win over Spirit, while Aurora will be looking to shut that run down early.

The second quarter-final is arguably the headline matchup. Falcons are set to face PARIVISION in a rematch of their PGL Cluj-Napoca quarter-final, where PARIVISION previously edged out a 2–1 victory. This time around, Falcons are chasing redemption, while PARIVISION will aim to prove that result was no fluke.

Semi-Finals Already Waiting With Top Seeds

Two of the tournament favourites have already secured their places in the semi-finals thanks to topping their respective groups.

Team Vitality will face the winner of Aurora vs The MongolZ, giving them time to prepare while scouting both potential opponents. Meanwhile, Natus Vincere are set to meet the winner of Falcons vs PARIVISION, setting up a potential clash with either a revenge-driven Falcons roster or a confident PARIVISION side.

This structure puts immediate pressure on the quarter-final winners, who will have to quickly adapt before facing well-rested top seeds.

Full BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026 Playoff Schedule

The full schedule for the playoffs spans three days, with quarter-finals on Friday, semi-finals on Saturday, and the grand final closing out the event on Sunday.

Momentum And Pressure Collide In Rotterdam

With the BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026 playoff bracket now locked, the stage is set for a mix of momentum-driven underdogs and rested top seeds to collide.

Teams like The MongolZ arrive with confidence after fighting through elimination matches, while squads such as Vitality and Natus Vincere will be looking to capitalise on their direct semi-final entries.

The added layer of rematches, especially between Falcons and PARIVISION, gives this playoff run an extra edge, with past results likely to influence how these teams approach their next encounter.

As the tournament shifts to a live arena environment, performance under pressure becomes just as important as strategy, and that’s often where champions separate themselves from the rest.

BLAST has officially revealed the 32 teams set to compete in BLAST Bounty Season 1 2026, marking the first Tier 1 Counter-Strike 2 tournament of the new competitive year. With online qualifiers, a high-stakes single-elimination format, and LAN finals in Malta on the line, the event is shaping up to be a fast, unforgiving start to the 2026 CS2 calendar.

A High-Profile Start to the 2026 CS2 Season

BLAST Bounty Season 1 2026 will begin with online qualifiers, before culminating in a LAN finals showdown at the BLAST Studios in Malta. Only eight teams will survive the opening phase, making every match matter from day one.

The tournament features a mix of established champions, rising contenders, and regional hopefuls, all aiming to make an early statement in the new season.

Invitations were issued based on December’s Valve Regional Standings, with FURIA topping the rankings after a strong finish to 2025. The Brazilian side headlines a stacked field that includes some of Counter-Strike’s most recognisable names.

Powerhouse Teams Lead a Stacked Field

Among the favourites are StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 winners Team Vitality, alongside Team Spirit, FaZe Clan, and Team Falcons. Each arrives in Malta with expectations firmly on their shoulders, especially after strong performances late last year.

North America will once again be represented by M80 and Passion UA, both of whom impressed across the three Swiss stages at the Budapest Major. Their inclusion adds extra intrigue to the opening rounds, particularly against Europe’s heavyweights.

Not every top team will be present, however. MOUZ, The MongolZ, G2 Esports, and TYLOO have all declined invitations, opting out of the first BLAST Bounty event of 2026.

How the BLAST Bounty Format Works

BLAST Bounty sets itself apart from other Tier 1 Counter-Strike tournaments through its ruthless format. All 32 teams start in online, best-of-three, single-elimination matches. One loss and a team’s run is over.

Once the field is reduced to eight, the remaining squads will travel to Malta to compete in another single-elimination bracket at the BLAST Studios, where the Season 1 champion will be crowned.

The structure leaves little room for error and promises a packed schedule of decisive matches from the very start.

Full List of BLAST Bounty Season 1 2026 Teams

The online qualifier stage runs from January 13 to January 18, with the overall action beginning on January 12, 2026. The full list of teams competing in the opening phase is as follows:

FURIA

Team Falcons

While the event is confirmed for Europe, BLAST has yet to reveal which city will host the second week’s arena stage. The organiser teased fans on social media, asking for guesses, and the community didn’t hold back. Suggestions quickly flooded in, with names like Tampere (Finland), Madrid (Spain), Stockholm (Sweden), and others popping up across X (formerly Twitter).

Two Weeks, Two Venues

According to BLAST’s announcement, the 2026 Open will be split across two consecutive weeks. The first week of action is set for Copenhagen, Denmark, while the second week will shift to a yet-to-be-revealed European city for the Playoffs.

The event, officially known as BLAST Open Fall 2026, will feature 16 teams battling for a $400,000 (~£300,824) prize pool. Team slots will be determined through Valve Regional Standings (VRS) as well as open and closed qualifiers, ensuring a mix of top-tier organisations and rising challengers.

Part of BLAST’s Expanding 2026 Calendar

This tournament is part of BLAST’s ambitious plan to host six Counter-Strike 2 events throughout 2026. Earlier this year, the organiser announced its first 2026 Open, which will head to the Netherlands, with Rotterdam’s Ahoy Arena confirmed as the venue for the Playoffs.

The announcement follows BLAST’s earlier commitment to Valve’s Tournament Operations Rulebook, ensuring standardised event operations and fair competition across the global CS2 calendar.

Upgrades and Improvements for 2026

Beyond just expanding its calendar, BLAST has also revealed improvements it intends to roll out next year. These include better player hospitality and accommodation, as well as the ability for teams to bring larger support staff to events.

The changes reflect BLAST’s ongoing effort to refine the player and fan experience at its tournaments. The organiser has earned a strong reputation for its high-production values, smooth event logistics, and immersive stage setups, something fans can expect once again at next year’s European Open.

A Strong Track Record in Europe

Europe has long been a core region for BLAST’s Counter-Strike operations. In 2025, BLAST hosted successful events in Lisbon and London, with Team Vitality and G2 Esports claiming victories respectively.

With another European Open on the way and growing excitement around CS2’s competitive scene, fans are already speculating which city will host the next big arena showdown. Whether it’s in Finland, Spain, or somewhere entirely new, the next BLAST Premier Open promises to deliver another world-class esports spectacle.

Spirit vs Falcons: A Clash of Powerhouses

The headline match of the day is undoubtedly Team Spirit vs Falcons, a pairing that has fans buzzing. Both teams have been in impressive form throughout 2025, with Spirit’s Donk continuing his meteoric rise as one of the scene’s brightest stars, while Falcons’ kyousuke has become a fan favourite and one of the most polarising figures in the game.

Social media quickly lit up after the announcement, with memes and fan reactions flooding Twitter (X). “GOATSUKE vs Donk,” one fan wrote, summing up the excitement around the match. Others debated whether the Falcons’ wildcard invite was fair, while some simply called it the “perfect opener” for the Hong Kong tournament.

Group Stage Format Explained

The eight teams are split into two groups of four, following a double-elimination BO3 format. The top team from each group will advance straight to the semi-finals, while the second and third-placed teams move into the quarter-finals.

From there, the tournament transitions into a single-elimination playoff bracket, featuring best-of-three quarter and semi-finals, leading up to a best-of-five grand final.

Group A

The MongolZ

Spirit

Falcons

Passion UA

Group B

FURIA

Vitality

TYLOO

paiN

Fans have noted that the groups are relatively balanced, with seeding reportedly based on VRS rankings from early October. That put The MongolZ and FURIA as the top seeds in their respective groups.

Community Buzz and Expectations

As always, the CS community had plenty to say. Some questioned why Brazilian squads like FURIA and paiN were matched against each other yet again, while others defended BLAST’s seeding system as fair.

On the lighter side, fans in Hong Kong are thrilled to finally see a major BLAST event on home soil. Tickets for the weekend have already sold briskly, with several local fans sharing their excitement on social media, ready to witness top-tier Counter-Strike live.

Meanwhile, predictions are heating up thanks to the BLAST Rivals Hong Kong Simulator, now live on blast.tv, where fans can simulate matches and share their bracket forecasts.

What’s at Stake

Beyond the prize pool, BLAST Rivals Hong Kong represents the final opportunity for teams to fine-tune their strategies before the Budapest Major. A strong showing here could boost confidence and ranking points heading into one of the most important events of the year.

Whether it’s Donk vs Kyousuke, FURIA’s Brazilian derby, or The MongolZ defending Asian pride on home turf, the stage is set for a thrilling conclusion to 2025’s Counter-Strike season.

BLAST Rivals Hong Kong begins 12 November, streaming live on BLAST.tv and across official broadcast partners.

Chaos Hits Esports’ Biggest Brands

In a bizarre turn of events, several major esports organisations had their official YouTube accounts compromised this week, all to push a fake cryptocurrency scam. Channels belonging to ESL, BLAST Premier, BLAST Rainbow Six, and even the Esports World Cup were hijacked early on October 16, 2025, to broadcast a fraudulent “Memecoin” giveaway on the Solana platform.

However, the attack was short-lived, with the fake livestreams taken down within minutes. Still, the incident sparked confusion and humour across the community, especially after users noticed that all the compromised streams used an old clip of Gabe Newell promoting the Steam Deck, now repurposed with a QR code for the bogus token drop.

“Can’t Believe Gabe Newell Himself Agreed…”

The situation quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), with content creator @aquaismissing joking, “Can’t believe Gabe Newell himself agreed to present the launch of the BLAST Solana meme coin.” The same user later pointed out that ESL and BLAST being hit together was “too convenient,” joking that “they’re the same company, I just can’t prove it yet.”

Can’t believe Gabe Newell himself agreed to present the launch of the BLAST Solana meme coin… pic.twitter.com/NgBUGcT6lU

— aqua (@aquaismissing) October 15, 2025

While the memes rolled in, cybersecurity experts pointed to a much more plausible explanation. The breach likely stemmed from shared access between esports production teams and contractors. If even one social media manager was phished via a fake email or Slack message, attackers could have gained access to multiple linked accounts.

How It Happened

All four channels showed the same fake livestream at around the same time, suggesting that one individual or coordinated group was behind the attack. The fraudulent streams directed viewers to scan a QR code linked to a so-called “Memecoin giveaway” on Solana, one of the most popular blockchain networks for crypto projects.

The use of Gabe Newell’s likeness, without his consent, was a clear attempt to make the scam appear legitimate, preying on fans’ trust in major gaming brands and personalities.

This type of YouTube breach isn’t new. Over the years, numerous creators, tech influencers, and even corporations have fallen victim to phishing schemes that briefly take over their channels to promote fake giveaways, NFT drops, or crypto scams.

Damage Control and Valve’s Involvement

Fortunately, the damage from this incident seems minimal. The fake streams were quickly removed, and affected accounts have since regained control. However, an update after the initial report revealed that even Valve’s official Dota 2 YouTube channel was later compromised to host a similar scam, indicating the attackers may still have access to certain accounts or credentials.

Looks like Valve’s official Dota 2 YouTube channel was hacked by crypto scammers

While no official statements have been released by ESL, BLAST, or Valve at the time of writing, fans are urging these companies to strengthen their digital security practices and review who has access to key brand channels.

The VRS Invited Teams

Four of the world’s best teams have earned their spots through BLAST’s Global VRS standings: Team Vitality, Team Spirit, The MongolZ, and FURIA.

Vitality have been a powerhouse throughout 2025, winning the BLAST Rivals trophy earlier this year in Copenhagen. After a quieter few months, the French organisation will be looking to close the year on a high.

Team Spirit, featuring breakout star donk alongside sh1ro, have remained a constant threat all season long. The MongolZ continue to impress with their fearless and aggressive playstyle, while FURIA enter the event fresh off their breakthrough win at FISSURE Playground 2, proving they can stand among the elite.

These four squads are coming into Hong Kong as favourites, but they won’t have an easy path to the title.

The Wildcard Invites

Joining the fray are four wildcard teams from around the globe: Team Falcons (Europe), Passion UA (North America), paiN Gaming (South America), and TYLOO (Asia).

Falcons bring serious firepower with NiKo, m0NESY, and kyousuke, a trio still searching for their first trophy together. Passion UA, made up of Complexity’s former core, have found new life under their Ukrainian banner and look ready to make a statement.

From South America, paiN Gaming continue their strong form, currently sitting just behind FURIA in regional rankings. Meanwhile, TYLOO will carry Asia’s hopes as the top non-VRS team in their region, returning to international competition with renewed confidence.

2025 hasn’t been perfect — and we’ve heard the feedback 🪛

We’re making tangible updates to how we support teams as we get ready for the Hong Kong Rivals, as well as looking ahead to the 2026 season.

Here’s how we’re levelling up 👇 #BLASTPremier https://t.co/W0QkH8qNog

— BLAST Premier 💥 (@BLASTPremier) October 7, 2025

After what it described as a “less-than-ideal” 2025, the tournament organiser has acknowledged the issues raised by participating teams and promised to step things up, both behind the scenes and on the ground, as it prepares for the upcoming Hong Kong Rivals and next year’s circuit.

In a recent post on blast.tv, BLAST said it was “committed to improving our offering for teams and increasing the visibility of changes to the BLAST circuit as we close out the year and look ahead to 2026.”

Eight Key Improvements for 2026

The upcoming changes span everything from hospitality and transport to player facilities and staff support.

To start, BLAST is expanding its hospitality offerings, giving teams two additional reserved hotel rooms that can be purchased, allowing more staff to travel alongside players. The event’s catering system will also move to a voucher-based model, giving teams more flexibility with local food delivery apps and dining options.

The on-site experience will also receive a major overhaul. Player lounges will return for large arena events, creating a space for athletes to relax between matches. BLAST also plans to bring in new printing equipment for team staff to simplify match-day prep and expand the PLAYMA headcount to better support teams during events.

On the transportation side, the organiser is conducting a comprehensive shuttle service review to make sure team travel runs smoothly between hotels and venues.

Finally, BLAST’s Malta studio is getting attention too. The organiser plans to hire permanent local staff to improve facilities and logistics, along with reviewing studio accommodation after feedback from the recent BLAST Bounty Season 2.

Looking Ahead

These updates come as BLAST looks to regain trust and momentum after a year that many teams described as frustrating. With the competitive CS2 calendar becoming more crowded than ever, the move signals that BLAST is intent on staying a major player in the space, and ensuring that teams have the best possible experience at its events.

The changes will begin rolling out ahead of the BLAST Premier: Hong Kong Rivals, with more updates expected as the 2026 season draws closer.

WE ARE THE BLAST PREMIER OPEN LONDON CHAMPIONS! pic.twitter.com/XKdCR50Loj

— G2 CS (@G2CSGO) September 7, 2025

The win caps off an incredible weekend for G2, who had already dispatched FaZe and FURIA before taking down Vitality in a rollercoaster best-of-five. For Vitality, it’s another crushing blow, as they continue their hunt for a title four events into the season. Their last top-tier win dates back to June at the BLAST Austin Major.

How the Grand Final Played Out

The series kicked off on Dust2, Vitality’s pick, but it was G2 who set the tone. They raced ahead with a dominant 10-2 lead in the first half, with every player hitting double digits. Not even Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut’s stunning ace clutch could spark a turnaround. G2 sealed the opener 13-3, with MATYS and HeavyGod cleaning up in style.

Vitality responded on Mirage, where ZywOo unleashed one of the most jaw-dropping performances of the year. He finished the map with a 30-6 K/D, including a flawless T-side run and his second ace of the series. Vitality tied things up 1-1 with a convincing 13-6.

On Overpass, Vitality carried their momentum forward. A tight first half ended 6-6, but Robin “ropz” Kool and Shahar “flameZ” Shushan helped fuel a dominant CT side. G2 barely scraped an eco round as Vitality pulled ahead 2-1 in the series.

Inferno became the turning point. Despite Vitality starting strong, G2 refused to fold. Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa and Matúš “MATYS” Šimko came alive late, dragging the match into overtime. Against the odds, G2 rallied to take Inferno 16-12, forcing a decider.

That left Train, where the least experienced players on G2’s roster, MATYS and Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko, stole the spotlight. HeavyGod’s Dual Berettas ace and a clutch 1v2 silenced Vitality’s early hopes, while MATYS racked up multi-kills to keep the momentum rolling. G2 closed the map 13-6, sending Wembley Arena into raptures.

Standout Performances

While ZywOo was undeniably the star for Vitality, posting 87 kills and two aces across the series, G2’s strength came from balance. MATYS finished with a 1.21 rating, HeavyGod added clutch after clutch, and malbsMd delivered when it mattered most.

After the match, HeavyGod summed up G2’s approach, saying the roster “doesn’t need an insane superstar” because they know how to act as a unit. That teamwork carried them all the way to the trophy.

First mvp for me and first trophyyyy crazyyyyyy thanks for all the support ❤️ https://t.co/0GZM6I78fp

— HeavyGod (@HeavyGodCS) September 7, 2025

What This Means

For G2, this win is massive. Not only do they take home $150,000 NZD (~£110,933), but they also climb up the VRS global rankings to fifth. It’s a statement victory that puts them firmly in the mix ahead of the Budapest Major later this year.

For Vitality, it’s back to the drawing board. Despite ZywOo’s brilliance, the team once again fell short when it mattered most. With Team Spirit currently topping the global rankings, Vitality will need to regroup fast if they want to reclaim their spot at the top.

The BLAST season continues in November with BLAST Rivals Fall in Hong Kong, where the world’s best will clash again. If this Grand Final was anything to go by, fans are in for another wild ride.

The stage is set in London as Vitality and G2 lock horns in the grand final of BLAST Open London 2025. After cruising through their semi-final clashes, the two European powerhouses will face off in a best-of-five series to decide who lifts the trophy.

Vitality were first to book their spot in the final after dismantling MOUZ 2-0. On Mirage, the French-led side punished their opponents for a series of slip-ups, most notably turning a full eco round into a momentum-shifting win. A 1v2 clutch from Lotan “Spinx” Giladi briefly kept MOUZ alive, but Vitality’s relentless A-site hits proved too much as they closed out the map 13-7.

Inferno told a similar story. Despite MOUZ finding early clutches, Vitality’s defensive half was airtight. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut led the charge with a triple kill in the pistol round, and the team never looked back, sealing the series with a 13-8 scoreline. It marks Vitality’s first grand final appearance since the BLAST.tv Austin Major, with William “mezii” Merriman now one win away from lifting a trophy on home soil.

.@TEAMVITALITYCS ARE HEADING TO THE GRAND FINAL! ✅🐝#BLASTPremier pic.twitter.com/x3vEJXU6ru

On the other side of the bracket, G2 rolled past FURIA with equal dominance. Their new-look roster wasted no time stamping their authority on Inferno, storming to an 8-4 lead at half-time before Álvaro “SunPayus” García and Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko put the finishing touches on a commanding 13-5 victory.

Mirage was tighter in the first half thanks to clutch plays from FURIA’s Danil “molodoy” Golubenko and Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis, but once sides swapped, G2’s firepower overwhelmed the Brazilians. SunPayus once again stole the spotlight, finishing with a 1.78 rating as G2 wrapped up another 13-5 to punch their ticket to the grand final.

Rotterdam Becomes a New Esports Hotspot

Over the course of two weeks, 16 of the world’s best Counter-Strike 2 squads will fight it out for a share of $1.1 million USD in combined prize money and team payments. The action kicks off at BLAST’s Copenhagen studios, with 12 teams earning direct invites through Valve’s global rankings. The final four spots will be decided in open qualifiers.

Only six teams will punch their ticket to Rotterdam, battling it out live on stage across the final three days in front of thousands of fans at the Ahoy Arena. With broadcasts planned in over 100 territories and more than 30 official languages, BLAST expects a global audience in the millions, last year’s Open pulled in over 89 million views worldwide.

What Fans Can Expect in Rotterdam

This is more than just a Counter-Strike event. The Ahoy Arena, known for hosting international concerts and major sporting events, will be transformed into a hub of esports energy. BLAST is working alongside Dutch event organiser Friendly Fire, part of FKP Scorpio, to make sure the experience captures both the competitive intensity and the cultural impact of the moment.

“Bringing BLAST Premier Open to Rotterdam is a huge milestone,” said Rense van Kessel, co-founder of Friendly Fire. “It’s the biggest international esports event ever staged in the Netherlands, and we want it to be unforgettable for both the fans in attendance and those watching worldwide.”

Fans travelling in will not only get to see elite-level Counter-Strike but also contribute to Rotterdam’s growing esports culture, tourism, and entertainment scene.

Tickets and Dates

Presale: Thursday, 23 October 2025 at 10AM BST / 11AM CEST

General Sale: Friday, 24 October 2025 at 10AM BST / 11AM CEST

Tickets and updates will be available via BLAST.tv and the dedicated Dutch landing page blastpremier.nl.

A New Chapter for BLAST

After stops in global cities like Hong Kong, Rio, Munich, and London, Rotterdam now joins the map as BLAST continues expanding esports into fresh markets. With its trademark production value and a fanbase that’s hungry for top-tier competition, the BLAST Premier Open Rotterdam is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Counter-Strike events of 2026.
