Ushering in a new era of music from one of UK dance music’s true trailblazers, ‘Sugar’ lands as the perfect introduction to Riton’s bright new technicolour world.

The pre-cursor to an incoming mixtape due later this year, ‘Sugar’ is an explosive, peak-time dance anthem, niftily flipping a cut-and-paste sample from 50 Cent’s 2005 classic, ‘Candy Shop.’ Bold, hyper-infectious and packing the sort of rowdy, carefree energy that feels woven into the fabric of all Riton’s forthcoming music, ‘Sugar’ marks an exciting jump off point.

‘Sugar’ also drops alongside a first-of-its-kind generative AI visualiser, developed by the WMG Global Data Science team.

Created using a model that generates images based off of text descriptions, (known as Stable Diffusion), which was further trained on Riton’s face and moodboards, the team were also able to make the visuals react to the audio using AI, isolating audio individual elements and feeding them back into the animation. “It was a really exciting collaboration between data science and Atlantic’s creative team as we refined the aesthetic together,” explains Philip Watson, who headed up the visualiser’s creation.

Atlantic recording artist GALXARA has announced today’s release of a stellar new single.

“I Miss The Days (Feat. The iconic dance music visionary Tiësto is back fresh with a completely new sound on his anthemic new single, “The Business,” which is officially out today through Atlantic Records.

Tiësto also dropped a music video for the track (watch above this post). The video, directed by Christian Breslauer, stars viral comedian Casey Frey as he dances his way back to life. The video premiered last night directly after Tiësto delivered a special live performance from Red Rocks Amphitheatre, one of the world’s most unique concert venues.  The virtual dance party featured an array of artists, with Tiësto’s headlining set as the finale. MOGUAI has had a strong first half of 2019, with standout releases coming in the form of his collaboration with Heldeep label boss Oliver Heldens,’ Cucumba’, and more recently ‘Don’t Stop’ ft. Moe Mitchell. Now the German native wastes no time in following up those stellar releases with ‘Green Sally Up’, released via Big Beat Records.

Using the infamous vocal originally released in the 1960’s, and more recently made famous on Moby’s “Flowers” and by the viral ‘Sally Up’ workout challenge, MOGUAI once again proves his studio prowess and ability to breathe new life into existing elements, as fans are now challenged to take it to the next level with an up-tempo anthem that will have listeners pumped from the first listen.

The track develops instant momentum, as the instantly recognisable vocal is introduced early on. A stuttering synth stab is introduced which changes speed throughout, ensuring the track is ever-evolving and dynamic, and provides a hook that runs perfectly side-by-side with the lyrics. The main breakdown sees the full vocal unleashed, joined by a luscious piano accompaniment that is the perfect climax to the increasing tension that builds for the duration of the song.

On the inspiration behind the track, MOGUAI commented ‘I loved the groove I created on ‘Sometimes’, which worked out pretty well, and I thought it would be a good idea to work on a new theme with a similar kind of rhythm. An old record came to my mind from around Love Parade 10 years ago, it was an old record from Kompakt which had a pluck sound you could modulate and make great build ups from, building up the atmosphere without using a snare fill, and luckily I found the sound and added it to the production. I had the ‘Sally Up’ vocal for a long time and I wasn’t sure whether to use it or if it was too obvious, but no one had used it in a dance sense, so I decided to go for it. The instrumental worked well on its own, but the vocal took it to another level.”

MOGUAI has managed to sustain a career at the top of dance music for a prolonged period of time due to his ability to constantly re-invent sounds and stay fresh, taking inspiration from his extensive knowledge of music as well as the world around him.

Pop music’s esteemed vanguard Charli XCX teams with phenomenons Clairo and Yaeji to release a new track “February 2017” co-written by all three women with production from A G Cook and French trio Planet 1999.

“February 2017” is a melancholic introspection of regret and a plea of reconciliation following a disintegrated romance — off her third studio album “Charli” officially arriving on September 13th, 2019 via Atlantic Records.

Charli thinks back on the experience: “Collaborating with Yaeji and Clairo was really fun and unique. We are all very different artists but coming together on this song felt so special and right. Clairo and I made a load of songs together in my studio in LA one afternoon at the beginning of the year. None of them were this song but it was so easy to write with her that the second I came up with this idea separately I sent it over to her and she came back with loads of ideas. We sent over this idea to Yaeji too and she did a really beautiful verse. It sounds so intimate. It’s one of the most intimate moments on the album. We shot this artwork in Barcelona. These two women are really kind, talented and brilliant. I enjoy both of their music so much. I’m happy we have this song together.”

The summer of The Knocks has only just begun, and the beloved electronic music duo are dropping a new single called “Colors,” officially out today through Big Beat / Neon Gold.
