Shudder has announced the acquisition of  The Demon Disorder from special effects master Steven Boyle (The Matrix Trilogy, The Hobbit Trilogy, King Kong).

The streaming network also released the trailer for the highly anticipated film, which marks Boyle’s feature directorial debut.

The Australian demonic family drama centers on Graham, a man haunted by his past since the death of his father and the estrangement from his two brothers. Jake, the middle brother, contacts Graham claiming that something is horribly wrong: their youngest brother Phillip is possessed by their deceased father. Graham reluctantly agrees to go and see for himself. With the three brothers back together, they soon realize they are unprepared for the forces against them and learn that the sins of their past will not stay hidden. But how do you defeat a presence that knows you inside and out? An anger so powerful it refuses to stay dead?

The deal was negotiated by Emily Gotto on behalf of Shudder and James Norrie and Nina Kolokouri at AMP on behalf of the filmmakers.

Written and directed by Boyle, along with Toby Osborne (PINDAM) as writer, THE DEMON DISORDER is produced by Boyle and Ally Muller and executive produced by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig.

Starring John Noble (THE LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy), Charles Cottier, Christian Willis, and Dirk Hunter, the film will make its exclusive streaming debut on Shudder in Fall 2024.

Shudder, AMC Networks’ streaming service for horror, thrillers and the supernatural, released the trailer for the new thriller Nightmare, from writer/director Kjersti Helen Raasmussen (The Tunnel).

The film will make its exclusive streaming debut on Friday, September 29 on Shudder priming fans for Shudder’s annual “FearFest.” Nightmare, a Norwegian language film with English subtitles, will also be available to stream on AMC+.

In Nightmare, Mona and Robby are a young couple in love. Robby has just landed his dream job, and they’ve scored an amazing deal on a spacious, if run-down, flat. Never mind that it requires quite a bit of renovation. Never mind the neighbors’ constant fighting, and screaming baby… Never mind that Mona is suddenly plagued by night terrors which grow more intense every time she falls asleep… Robby is eager to start a family, despite Mona’s hesitation. Eventually, Mona’s issues spiral dangerously out of control as she becomes convinced that she is being attacked by a mythical demon – the Mare – intent on possessing her unborn child.

Shudder released today the premiere date, trailer for the fourth season of Creepshow, the hit horror anthology series executive produced by showrunner Greg Nicotero.

Creepshow season four will debut on Shudder, AMC+ and AMC on Friday, October 13th, 2023 with a six-episode binge premiere on Shudder and AMC+ and new episodes airing weekly on AMC linear.

Based on George A. Romero’s iconic 1982 horror-comedy classic, Creepshow is still the most fun you’ll ever have being scared. A comic book comes to life in a series of vignettes, exploring terrors ranging from murder, creatures, monsters, and delusions to the supernatural and unexplainable. You never know what will be on the next page…

Shudder released today the trailer for the new indie thriller film Influencer, from Shudder alumnus, writer / director Kurtis David Harder (Harpoon, Superhost, V/H/S 94).

The film, which premiered at Brooklyn Horror Film Festival last year and played various festivals, winning multiple awards, will make its exclusive streaming debut Friday, May 26th, 2023 on Shudder and will also be available to stream on AMC+.

Influencer tells the story of Madison (Emily Tennant, Riverdale), a popular social media influencer who is having a lonely and uneventful trip in Thailand despite what she tells her followers on Instagram.

While reflecting on her boyfriend canceling the trip, she meets CW (Cassandra Naud, See), a fearless and enigmatic traveler who offers to take her to some of the most Instagram-worthy locations. Together they share authentic meals and drinks with locals, discussing the differences between Madison’s online presence and CW’s lack of one. After showing Madison all of the amazing sights, things take a different turn when CW brings her to a surprise location – a deserted island that is completely off the grid.

Influencer was produced by Kurtis David Harder, Tesh Guttikonda (co-writer), Brandon Christensen, Jack Campbell and Micah Henry.  The film was shot on location in Thailand and also stars Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) and Rory J. Saper (The Legend of Tarzan).

Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thrillers and the supernatural, released the official trailer and artwork for Slasher: Ripper, the latest installment in the Slasher franchise.

Starring Eric McCormack (Will & Grace), the all-new season debuts with a two-episode premiere on Thursday, April 6, 2023 on Shudder and AMC+ with new episodes rolling out weekly on Thursdays.

Slasher: Ripper takes the franchise back in time to the late 19th century and follows Basil Garvey (McCormack), a charismatic tycoon whose success is only rivaled by his ruthlessness, as he oversees a city on the cusp of a new century, and a social upheaval that will see its streets run red with blood.

There’s a killer stalking the mean streets, but instead of targeting the poor and downtrodden like Jack the Ripper, The Widow is meting out justice against the rich and powerful. The only person standing in the way of this killer is the newly promoted detective, Kenneth Rijkers, whose ironclad belief in justice may wind up being yet another victim of The Widow.

Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, announced the continuation of Studio71’s hit found footage anthology franchise, V/H/S, with an all-new installment, V/H/S/85.  The Shudder Original Film will release in North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand in 2023 and will feature renown genre filmmakers David Bruckner (Hellraiser, The Night House), Scott Derrickson (The Black Phone, Sinister), Gigi Saul Guerrero (Bingo Hell, Culture Shock), Natasha Kermani (Lucky) and Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn).

“Since its inception, the V/H/S franchise has been a showcase for both established and emerging horror filmmakers to terrify audiences with innovative takes on the found footage genre. Following the success of last year’s hit V/H/S/94 and this year’s upcoming V/H/S/99, we are totally stoked to take Shudder members back to 1985 with a wicked new collection of scares from some of the most radical horror directors working today,” said Shudder General Manager Craig Engler.

In the upcoming V/H/S/99, which debuted at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival and premieres on Shudder on Thursday, October 20th, 2022, a thirsty teenager’s home video leads to a series of horrifying revelations. The film features five new stories from filmmakers Maggie Levin (Into The Dark: My Valentine), Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City), Flying Lotus (Kuso), Tyler MacIntyre (Tragedy Girls) and Joseph & Vanessa Winter (Deadstream). V/H/S/99 harkens back to the final punk rock analog days of VHS, while taking one giant leap forward into the hellish new millennium.

Shudder, AMC Networks’ streaming service for horror, thrillers and the supernatural, is thrilled to release the trailer for the Shudder original Deadstream.

The feature directorial debut from husband-and-wife filmmaking couple Vanessa and Joseph Winter, who also share writing co-credits, premiered earlier this year at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival in the Midnight section to wild acclaim from audiences and critics. Joseph Winter also stars, alongside Melanie Stone and Jason K. Wixom.

Deadstream follows a disgraced internet personality who attempts to win back his followers by livestreaming one night alone in a haunted house. But when he accidentally pisses off a vengeful spirit, his big comeback event becomes a real-time fight for his life.

With Deadstream, a rare horror comedy as frightening as it is funny, the Winters have boldly announced themselves as exciting emerging talent ready to take the genre scene by storm. The work of the filmmaking duo can next be seen in a segment from Shudder’s hotly-anticipated V/H/S/99, the latest installment in the celebrated found-footage horror series, which premieres out of TIFF’s Midnight Madness later this month.

Deadstream is produced by Joseph and Vanessa Winters, alongside cinematographer Jared Cook and actress Melanie Stone, who also star in the film. The Winters co-edited the film, with Joseph contributing to music for the project as well.

AMC Networks’ first traditionally animated series, Pantheon.

A sci-fi drama based on a collection of short stories by award-winning author Ken Liu, this thrilling speculative is centered on a bullied teen (Katie Chang) who receives mysterious help from someone online: a stranger soon revealed to be her recently deceased father, David (Daniel Dae Kim), whose consciousness has been uploaded to the Cloud following an experimental destructive brain scan.

David is the first of a new kind of being – an “Uploaded Intelligence” or “UI” – but he will not be the last, as a global conspiracy unfolds that threatens to trigger a new kind of world war. The series writer, creator, showrunner and executive producer is Craig Silverstein (TURN: Washington’s Spies, Nikita, Terra Nova), and animation is by Titmouse (Motorcity, Big Mouth, Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head).

When tragedy hits a small family and one young twin son is killed, the parents and remaining son relocate for a new start.

From the U.S. to a small Scandinavian town Rachel (Teresa Palmer) and her husband Anthony (Steven Cree) believe that the frigid weather and close knit surroundings will be healing for them all, including their surviving twin Elliot.

But when young Elliot makes a wish and begins believing that he is the dead twin, his brother Nathan everything begins to spiral in to darkness.

The townsfolk have something eerie about them – as does the entire town and the local eccentric, Helen, tries to warn Rachel, who ends up finding out herself what horrors bestow the land they have moved to.

The Twin is a slow burn of a film, it creeps up on you and gives you just enough at certain points to retain your engagement.

You begin to feel for the family, relate with Rachel all the while able to sit back and enjoy the twisted flow in to deep horror.

The more observant viewers will also get an after taste of Rosemary’s Baby in this film – I’ll leave that comment right there as I don’t want to add any spoilers. But I will say this, it then takes a very unexpected turn…

The Twin is an excellent eerie watch for a late night scare.
