Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Pre-Orders: Three Editions, $59.99 to $99.99, Aug 6 Launch

Pre-orders for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls are now live across three separate editions, giving fans of Arc System Works’ upcoming 4v4 tag-team brawler a clear but pricey set of choices before its August 6, 2026 launch on PS5 and PC. Standard, Digital Deluxe and Ultimate packages are all available now on PlayStation Store, Steam and the Epic Games Store, each carrying different bundles of post-launch characters and cosmetics on top of the base game.

Standard Edition Locks In at $59.99, Physical Copies PS5-Only

The entry-level Standard Edition of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will set you back $59.99, or £59.99, and covers the full base game with all 20 launch characters and no additional content. Notably, there appears to only be one physical version of the game up for pre-order on the PlayStation 5 being the standard one on stores like Amazon and GameStop, meaning boxed copies of the pricier tiers simply don’t exist.

Every pre-order, regardless of edition or platform, carries the same trio of cosmetic extras. Buyers who lock in the Standard Edition will nab you the Infinity Gauntlet (Lobby Equipment), Baby Groot (Lobby Pet), and Cosmic Surf Board (Lobby Ride) on top of the game. On Steam, those bonus items are pre-purchase bonuses redeemable until 5 August 2027, so there’s no rush to redeem the moment the game unlocks.

Digital Deluxe at $84.99 Bundles the Year 1 Character Pass

Stepping up to the Digital Deluxe Edition costs an extra $25 on top of Standard, bringing the price to $84.99. According to a breakdown of the edition’s contents, if you decide to spend $25 more, you can get your hands on the Digital Deluxe Edition of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and what it also brings is access to the Year One character and stage pass. That pass itself comes with four additional characters and one new stage added after launch, and Digital Deluxe buyers additionally receive Howard the Duck and Cosmo as lobby cosmetics.

Steam’s own storefront confirms the pass’s rollout window, noting that the remainder of the content for the Year 1 Character and Stage Pass is expected to be made available by 31 December 2027, meaning Deluxe and Ultimate buyers won’t see all four bonus fighters right away.

Ultimate Edition Tops Out at $99.99 With Costume Bundle

The priciest option, the Ultimate Edition, sits at $99.99 and folds in everything from Digital Deluxe. Per a pre-order breakdown, the Marvel Tokon Ultimate Edition for $100 contains everything mentioned before as well as five additional character costumes and an animated chromatic color pack for all 20 launch fighters. It’s a purely cosmetic jump over Digital Deluxe rather than an unlock for extra gameplay content, so the extra $15 buys skins and colour variants rather than new fighters or stages.

PSN Account Required Even on Steam and Epic

One catch that applies across every edition and every platform: a PlayStation Network account is mandatory just to play. Steam’s own product page spells it out plainly, stating that an account for PlayStation and internet connection required. That requirement carries real-world consequences for the PC audience, since the Steam and Epic Games Store version will still require a PlayStation Network login, meaning countries that can’t access PSN cannot get the game on PC, and there are over a hundred countries on that list.

Ahead of launch, Sony and Arc System Works also gave the wider public a free trial run. PlayStation’s official product page confirmed the trial running from 24-26 July (PT), letting players test ranked and casual matches, local versus, training tools and a slice of the story mode before committing to any edition.

Vital Gauge Mechanic and the 20-Character Launch Roster

Developed by Arc System Works — the studio behind Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ — and published under PlayStation Studios in partnership with Marvel Games, Fighting Souls is an upcoming fighting game developed by Arc System Works and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Its launch roster is built around 20 playable characters, split evenly between five teams of four with designated team leaders, and the game breaks from franchise convention with a shared team health pool: teams in Fighting Souls all share a single health bar, known as a Vital Gauge, that extends over the course of a round as more of a player’s team is made accessible.

Among the confirmed rosters, one full squad has already been detailed. The first fully revealed team is the Unbreakable X-Men, led by Storm and including Wolverine, Magik, and Danger, while other confirmed fighters include Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, Ms. Marvel, Ghost Rider and Star-Lord.

Australian retailers have the Standard Edition listed for PS5 buyers ahead of launch, with EB Games Australia and BIG W both carrying pre-order pages for the physical release, giving local fighting-game fans a straightforward path to grab a boxed copy without importing. New Zealand and Australian players eyeing the PC version should keep the PSN login requirement in mind when linking accounts, though both regions retain standard PlayStation Network access.
