Aeruta’s Bakery-Dungeon RPG Confirmed for PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch
Aeruta, the side-scrolling bakery-management action RPG that quietly built a cult following on PC, is heading to consoles. Publisher Gravity Game Arise and developer FromDawn announced that the game is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, though a firm release date has not yet been set.

For Japanese players specifically, the console versions will arrive with some extra bells and whistles that PC owners never got the chance to unwrap.
Chaya, Effie and a World That Forgot Bread
Aeruta follows Chaya, a fox-eared adventurer-in-training whose plans go sideways almost immediately. According to the game’s own storefront description, Aeruta is a side-scrolling action game with a shop management twist, in which players fight monsters for materials and use them to make breads, then finally make the deserted town popular again.
The setup, as detailed by outlets covering the PC release, sees Chaya’s quest temporarily derailed when she accidentally causes a bakery oven to explode, and to make amends she teams up with Effie, the bakery’s owner, to rebuild the business and help revitalize the town. From there, players split their time between side-scrolling combat runs for ingredients and running the shop counter back home, a loop Siliconera described as “a 2D platformer with some RPG elements with a bakery management sim.”
From Steam Early Access to a Very Positive Track Record
Aeruta first launched in Early Access for PC via Steam on May 15, 2024, followed by a full release on November 5, 2025. That eighteen-month runway let FromDawn add new islands, bosses and a mini-game system before cutting the game loose from Early Access altogether.
The wait appears to have paid off. On Steam, Aeruta currently sits at “Very Positive,” with 98% of its 371 user reviews being positive, a strong showing for a niche genre blend that sits alongside games like Cuisineer and Battle Chef Brigade in mixing combat with commerce.
Japan-Only Collector’s Box and a Fan Illustration Contest
The console announcement comes with some Japan-specific perks that set it apart from a straightforward PC-to-console port. In Japan, the PlayStation 5 and Switch versions will be available both physically and digitally in standard and “Collector’s Box” editions, while the PlayStation 4 version will be digital-only.
Gravity Game Arise is also turning the launch into a community event. The publisher will hold an illustration contest in celebration of the console release, with the winning design — voted on by fans — featured as an official illustration in the Collector’s Box edition’s art book. No details have been shared yet on contest entry rules, timing or what exactly the Collector’s Box will bundle alongside that art book.
No Word Yet on a Western Switch or PS5 Release
For now, the confirmed physical and Collector’s Box details are specifically tied to Japan, and neither Gravity Game Arise nor FromDawn has said whether Australian and New Zealand players will see a physical release, an eShop or PSN digital listing, or any AUD/NZD pricing for the console versions. Given that Aeruta’s PC release was available worldwide via Steam from day one, a digital Western console launch alongside or shortly after the Japanese rollout would be a reasonable expectation, though nothing has been confirmed.
The move to consoles also puts Aeruta in front of a much wider audience than Steam’s niche cozy-management crowd, at a time when hybrid “fight by day, manage by night” titles are having a moment across PlayStation and Switch storefronts.
