Since then, pricing on the 4TB model has ranged roughly $699 to $1,000 depending on the retailer, with Amazon’s first-party listings often sitting closer to $699 while third-party sellers ask $849 or more.

Independent price-tracking data from Pangoly backs up that volatility: the 4TB SN8100 has swung from a low of $350 last September to a peak of $1,899.99 in April this year, with an average sitting around $804. At $699.99, the current Amazon price sits below that historical average but is still roughly 49% above its original street price.
