The Jackbox Party Pack 12 Gameplay Trailer Tours All Five New Games

Jackbox just dropped a proper look at all five games in The Jackbox Party Pack 12. The new gameplay trailer runs through every title in the pack ahead of launch on October 15, and it’s the first time we’ve seen them all moving side by side.

The pack lands on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Apple TV, iPad and the Mac App Store. It costs US$29.99, and every one of the five games supports 2 to 8 players.

We Forgot a Card Turns Greeting Cards Into a Joke Contest

First up is We Forgot a Card, tagged as Design and Joke-Writing. The setup is relatable. You’re running late to a big event, you’ve ducked into a shop with limited options, and you need a card fast. So you make one, crafting ridiculous greeting cards for weird occasions.

The wild bit? Jackbox says there’s an option to buy your creations in real life. That’s a fun callback to the T-shirt printing gimmick from older packs, and I can already picture the cursed birthday cards coming out of this one.

Debate and Switch Puts You on Stage

Debate and Switch is the Presentation and Head-to-Head game. Topics range from simple to outlandish, and you have to persuade the room to side with your opinion. Jackbox describes it as a town hall talk-’em-up tourney, and the trailer shows two candidates at podiums in a school gym. If you liked Talking Points or Quixort’s chaos, this looks like the pick for the loud friend.

MegaPals and Idol Factions Test How Fast You Think

MegaPals is the Speed and Guessing game. It’s built around how connected you are with the people on your couch. You fire off words on impulse and see who matches up, so it rewards knowing how your mates think rather than knowing facts.

Idol Factions goes the other way. It’s Teamwork and Trivia, with two teams racing to sort answers into the right categories as they keep pouring in. Jackbox calls it an action-packed battle of facts, and says you’ll need to think fast and yell loudly. Sounds about right for a Jackbox trivia game.

Hyperface Lets You Warp Selfies for Laughs

The last game is Hyperface, a Head-to-Head and Photoediting game. You take selfies or use stock photos, then warp them to answer bizarre prompts. Jackbox’s example is your face when you’ve just seen a bear. You can smudge, yank, squash and draw on the photos to make something meant to be shared.

This is the one I’m most excited for. Drawing games have always been Jackbox’s strongest material, and mangling your friends’ faces is a natural step up from Drawful stick figures. Expect a lot of group chat material out of this one.

Jackbox Party Pack 12 Release Date, Price and Platforms

The Jackbox Party Pack 12 launches October 15 for US$29.99. It’s coming to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Apple TV, iPad and the Mac App Store. All five games support 2 to 8 players, so a full pack night works for small groups and big ones.

Jackbox says its games draw tens of millions of players every year, and this pack is aimed squarely at holidays, game nights and everyday hangouts. On paper, the mix here looks more balanced than some recent packs, with a drawing game, a trivia game, a speech game and two quick-fire social games.

We’ll have more on the Party Pack 12 closer to launch here on ShaneTheGamer.
