TenZ will host Coinbase One Shot, a new VALORANT 1v1 tournament sending players from European and North American competitions to an in-person final in New York City for a grand prize of one Bitcoin. The competition uses a best-of-one format and is split between Creator Cups for creators and streamers and Open Qualifiers presented as a free-for-all route into the event.

The official Coinbase One Shot website lists four September tournaments before the finals on 25 and 26 October. The two players who reach the grand final will also receive tickets to VCT Champions 2027.
How Coinbase One Shot Works
Coinbase describes One Shot with a simple format: “1 V 1. BEST OF ONE.” The tournament has two routes into the later New York stage, with Creator Cups aimed at creators and streamers and Open Qualifiers available as the broader competitive route.
The event website states that the top two from the Creator Cups and Open Qualifiers will be invited to the finals in New York City. It does not give a total finals field alongside that wording, but both Europe and North America have their own Creator Cup and Open Qualifier listed on the tournament schedule.
Registration closes 48 hours before an event begins. Applying that cutoff to the public qualifier schedule puts the North American Open Qualifier deadline at 14:00 PDT on 24 September, while Europe’s closes at 14:00 CEST on 25 September.
Coinbase One Shot Creator Cup and Open Qualifier Schedule
| Tournament | Region | Date | Start Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Creator Cup | Europe | 13 September 2026 | 16:00 CEST |
| Creator Cup | North America | 13 September 2026 | 14:00 PDT |
| Open Qualifier | North America | 26 September 2026 | 14:00 PDT |
| Open Qualifier | Europe | 27 September 2026 | 14:00 CEST |
TenZ initially announced that the Creator Cup would start on 13 September and the Open Qualifier on 27 September. The more detailed regional schedule on Coinbase One Shot shows that North America’s Open Qualifier actually begins one day earlier, on 26 September, with Europe following on 27 September.
TenZ Will Host Coinbase One Shot
TenZ is positioned as the host of the entire competition rather than simply the face of its announcement. Coinbase One Shot’s tournament page features him in its main event presentation, embeds a promotional video and links directly to his Twitch channel.
His own announcement also emphasised the public side of the event, telling players that anyone could win one Bitcoin and directing them to register through Coinbase One Shot. That route is represented on the website by the Open Qualifiers, while the separate Creator Cups are specifically labelled for creators and streamers.
Coinbase Has Been a VALORANT Esports Partner Since 2025
One Shot follows more than a year of involvement between Coinbase and VALORANT Esports. Riot Games announced a multi-year agreement with Coinbase on 6 May 2025, making the company an official partner of VALORANT and League of Legends global esports events, as well as the exclusive cryptocurrency exchange and a blockchain technology partner across both circuits.
The partnership began with VCT Masters Toronto in June 2025 and covered global VALORANT Champions Tour events including Masters and Champions. Riot said at the time that Coinbase would be involved in custom broadcast segments, event activations, hospitality promotions and fan giveaways. Coinbase subsequently introduced the Econ Report, a VALORANT broadcast segment built around analysing each team’s in-game economy and how spending decisions affect a round. Riot Games described those fan-facing activations as a central part of the partnership when the deal was announced.
Coinbase also used the partnership for VALORANT rewards before One Shot. Its 2025 VCT promotion offered fans a chance to win a trip for two to VALORANT Champions Paris, while the first 3,000 eligible entrants could receive a Slime Mosh Buddy gun buddy. Other activations under the agreement included viewer drops such as emotes and icons, alongside promotions tied to major VCT events.
One Shot takes that existing partnership into a player-facing competition rather than another broadcast segment or giveaway. Instead of watching a VCT event for rewards, players in Europe and North America can enter the tournament pathway themselves, with the leading competitors eventually travelling to New York for the October finals.
New York Finals Put 1 Bitcoin on the Line
The September tournaments ultimately feed into the Coinbase One Shot finals in New York City on 25 and 26 October 2026. The event’s grand prize is one Bitcoin, with the website repeatedly describing the competition as winner-takes-all.
Reaching the deciding matchup carries an additional VALORANT prize. Both grand finalists will receive tickets to VCT Champions 2027, meaning the runner-up still leaves the New York event with access to next year’s global championship event.
The road to New York begins with the European and North American Creator Cups on 13 September, before the Open Qualifiers give players their public route into Coinbase One Shot later in the month.
