Switch 2 eShop Charts: Oblivion Remastered Ends Splatoon Raiders’ Run at No. 1

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has claimed the top spot on Nintendo’s weekly Switch 2 eShop chart for the period ending August 16, 2026, breaking a run of consecutive weeks at number one for the shooter-adventure Splatoon Raiders. The reshuffle was confirmed in Nintendo Everything’s regular download-chart roundup, with Bethesda’s remaster arriving on hardware just five days before the tally was published.
Oblivion Remastered Knocks Splatoon Raiders Off Top Spot
Splatoon Raiders had been on a hot streak at number one for a while, but that honor now goes to The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, according to the tracker. The remaster sits on top with its Deluxe Edition also placing in the top five, a rare double-listing for a single game on the same week’s chart.
Bethesda and Nintendo confirmed the Switch 2 version launched on August 11, bringing Bethesda Game Studios’ classic open-world RPG to Nintendo players with stunning updated visuals, refined gameplay, and the complete story experience. GoNintendo’s own coverage of launch day noted the port was built in partnership with Virtuos and runs with DLSS support on both handheld and docked mode at 900p 30fps on handheld and 1080p 30fps docked, alongside a physical cartridge edition carrying the entire game on-card.
Splatoon Raiders’ run at the summit had been a genuine outlier for a spin-off title. The third-person shooter had sat at number one since its pre-load period in mid-July before officially launching worldwide on July 23, and industry watchers had tipped it to hold the position for months given the lack of a major first-party rival on the immediate horizon.

Madden NFL 27 Debuts at Number Two
Madden NFL 27 also seems to be doing well so far, coming in second on the chart in its first full week of availability. EA’s football sim went live worldwide on August 13, with Forbes reporting the standard edition launching globally on August 13 at 2 p.m. ET on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC, following staggered early access for Deluxe Edition and MVP+ buyers earlier that week.
The Switch 2 edition arrives as the series’ second straight year on Nintendo hardware after Madden NFL 26 broke a long absence from the platform last August. EA has pitched the new “Persona Engine” as the headline feature, reshaping Franchise Mode so that every NFL athlete has a distinct, realistic personality that informs their motivations, demands and reactions.
Lord of the Rings: War in the North Cracks the Top Five
Rounding out the week’s most notable new entries, The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, Legacy Edition lands for the first time at number five while Duskfade sits at number nine. The action-RPG’s debut in the top five marks the strongest first-week showing yet for a Middle-earth title on Switch 2, arriving in the same crowded release window as Bethesda’s and EA’s blockbusters.
Splatoon Raiders, for its part, has not fallen far: it holds at number three, still comfortably inside the top five nearly a month after launch, an indicator of the kind of sales tail Nintendo typically enjoys with its in-house shooters.
Full Switch 2 eShop Top 10 for the Week of August 16
According to Nintendo Everything’s tracker, the complete top ten for the week reads: The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, Madden NFL 27, Splatoon Raiders, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition, The Lord of the Rings: War in the North: Legacy Edition, Pokemon Pokopia, Mario Kart World, and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim + Fallout 4, with Hades 2: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Jurassic World Evolution 2, and Overcooked 2, Nintendo Switch 2 Edition filling out the remainder of the top ten.
Further down the list, older Bethesda catalogue titles continue to hold steady, with The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim + Fallout 4 still charting alongside standalone listings for Skyrim on its own, underlining just how durable Bethesda’s back catalogue has proven on the new hardware.
What the Shake-Up Means for Switch 2’s Release Calendar
For Australian and New Zealand Switch 2 owners, both Oblivion Remastered and Madden NFL 27 released day-and-date with North America and Europe, meaning local eShop accounts already reflect the same chart shake-up. With Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave still on the horizon as the next major first-party contender, this week’s numbers suggest third-party remasters and licensed sports titles are currently doing the heavy lifting in keeping Switch 2’s software charts fresh between first-party drops.
Nintendo Everything’s weekly chart, corroborated by GoNintendo’s own release and file-size tracking and by Forbes’ reporting on Madden’s global rollout, points to a genuinely competitive August for Switch 2 software: one where a nearly two-decade-old RPG and a yearly sports franchise have both outmuscled Nintendo’s newest in-house shooter, at least for now.
