Street Fighter 6: Arjun Confirmed for October 13, Second Year 4 Fighter

Capcom has locked in October 13 as the release date for Arjun, the second downloadable fighter of Street Fighter 6’s Year 4 season. The date landed alongside a new gameplay trailer on the Steam News page, confirming a framed Indian ex-cop who fights with yogic breathing techniques and a build designed to punish blocking opponents.
Who Arjun Actually Is
Capcom’s own rundown of the character keeps the backstory simple but grim. Arjun served as a police officer in India until the day his trusted partner was murdered, and Arjun was framed for the crime. Now he lives on the run, dedicating his every breath toward uncovering the mystery behind the death of his partner.
It’s a wrongful-conviction plot dropped into a fighting game roster, and it works because of how it’s built into his moves rather than just his cutscenes. Arjun’s Yoga Breathing techniques make him a stalwart powerhouse capable of dealing recoverable damage to his opponent even after being blocked, devastating projectiles and clever traps.
Fans on social media wasted no time picking apart the trailer’s frame data and comparing Arjun’s size to the roster’s current heavyweights:

The Moveset: Shoulder Charges and Ground Pillars
EventHubs, which got an early look at the trailer, describes Arjun as one of the larger characters in Street Fighter 6, about the size of Marisa, but fairly mobile despite his size, with the ability to easily move forward and continue pressure after knocking opponents down.
The signature tools line up with what Capcom published in its own character breakdown. There’s Arm of Justice, a versatile winding punch that saps his opponent’s energy with variants for different attack strengths and an optional Follow-up, and Cruel Shoulder, a lunging forward shoulder tackle with different properties depending on the strength of the attack.
The two combine into something genuinely unusual for the franchise. Divine Pillar has Arjun blow enough air into the ground to raise a pillar of earth, and Justice Beyond lets him use Cruel Shoulder to contact an active Divine Pillar, grab it, and swing it at his opponent in any direction. EventHubs also flagged a shoulder charge that takes him nearly the entire screen’s distance, with the screen shaking to indicate frame advantage if it connects against a blocking opponent.
We’re into it. A grapple-and-zone hybrid that turns his own set pieces into throws isn’t something SF6 has really had before, and if the pillar combos land the way the trailer suggests, this is going to be a nightmare to block on reaction the first few weeks.
Where He Slots Into the Year 4 Character Pass
Arjun follows Yasmine, who arrived on August 3 as the first of four Year 4 fighters. Capcom’s Games Press listing confirms he’s the second character to be released from the upcoming Year 4 roster including Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, Bosch, and the previously released Yasmine.
Access works the same way it has for every previous season. Arjun can be purchased individually with Fighter Coins, and owners of the Year 4 Character Pass or Ultimate Pass will automatically get access to him when he releases. On the cosmetic side, Outfit 1 depicts him on the run in pursuit of vengeance, while Outfit 2 is an idealized vision of Arjun that’s put his quest for justice behind him, unlockable by maxing his Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or with Fighter Coins.
Capcom used the same announcement window to tie in a bit of movie promotion. Limited-time New Challengers artwork and effects inspired by the Street Fighter movie also went live in the game the same day.
What’s Left in the Year 4 Roadmap
Two fighters remain on the confirmed slate. Tifa from Final Fantasy VII Remake is next, with Bosch arriving in spring 2027, while Tifa is due in early 2027. Capcom announced the whole Year 4 pass back in June, describing Tifa as a highly skilled practitioner of Zangan-ryu Martial Arts who excels in close-range combat, combining martial arts techniques with unique powers called Abilities.
Street Fighter 6 director Takayuki Nakayama has been pushing the line that this season’s cast needed to feel structurally different from what’s already in the game, telling IGN: “So, in terms of the fighting styles and what you can expect about their playstyles, we can say that they definitely feel unique and different from the existing roster.”
Our read on it: Arjun backs that claim up better than most DLC reveals do. Grab-into-zoning hybrids are rare in this game specifically because they’re hard to balance, and Capcom clearly built the ground pillar as a risk for both players, not just the guy throwing it.
