Stellar Blade: Complete Edition Switch 2 Port Still on Track for Late 2026

Shift Up’s Switch 2 port of Stellar Blade remains locked in for the second half of 2026, with the Korean studio using its latest financial report to reassure fans that the console debut of its post-apocalyptic action game has not slipped into next year. Shift Up confirms Stellar Blade is still coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in the second half of 2026 and has not been delayed. The confirmation lands just as Gamescom’s Opening Night Live approaches, giving Shift Up a natural stage to finally attach a firm date.
Stellar Blade first launched for PlayStation 5 on April 26, 2024, followed by PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on June 11, 2025. The Switch 2 edition was confirmed during Nintendo’s June 9 Direct, arriving as the version publishers now expect to be the game’s most complete package to date.
Complete Edition Bundles Every Piece of DLC
Rather than a bare-bones port, the Switch 2 release ships as a full Complete Edition. A Complete Edition is also available featuring the digital game, Twin Expansion Pack featuring the NieR: Automata DLC and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE DLC, a Goddess of Victory: NIKKE CD-key for a Stellar Blade costume in the mobile game, Fluffy Bear Pack drone cosmetics, and Planet Diving Suit (Captain) for Eve. That mirrors the bundle already sold on PS5 and PC, meaning Switch 2 owners won’t be missing content that shipped elsewhere.
The port also marks a shift in who is steering the ship. Stellar Blade is officially heading to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, marking a major step for ShiftUp as the studio continues moving beyond the game’s original PlayStation 5 exclusivity. ShiftUp’s head of publishing, Edouard Akopcan, described the Switch 2 announcement as a big moment for the company’s self-publishing ambitions, framing it as part of a wider effort to reach more players. Akopcan called the milestone “a huge deal for our self-publishing ambitions” when the port was first revealed.
Joy-Con 2 Motion Controls Stay Away From Combat
Nintendo’s newest controller gets a role, but not in the middle of a boss fight. Nintendo has said Stellar Blade on Switch 2 will support Joy-Con 2 motion controls for activities away from combat. The main combat system has not been described as motion-controlled. Shift Up’s own materials echo that framing, noting that players can experience support for Joy-Con 2 motion controls for activities, adding in an extra layer of immersion to moments away from combat.
Keeping motion sensing out of Eve’s parry-heavy combat loop is a sensible call for a game built around split-second timing. It suggests Shift Up sees Joy-Con 2 gyro and mouse-style controls as flavour for exploration and mini-games rather than a core mechanic overhaul.
ESRB Rating Points to an Uncensored Port
An ESRB listing that went live in July gave the clearest technical signal yet that Nintendo’s version won’t be trimmed down. It’s rated ‘M’ and contains blood and gore, language, suggestive themes and violence. The official summary describes an action-adventure RPG in which players assume the role of a super soldier battling an invading alien force, exploring apocalyptic environments from a third-person perspective while battling enemies in melee-style combat.
Vice’s reporting on the rating drew the same conclusion fans had been hoping for. The game’s rating didn’t reveal much, other than suggesting that it won’t be censored for the Nintendo platform, meaning those wanting Eve’s revealing outfits can expect the game to feature everything included in the other versions. That puts the Switch 2 edition on equal footing with its PS5 and PC siblings rather than a scaled-back regional cut.
Second-Half Window Holds as Blood Rain Looms
Two months after the June reveal left fans without a specific date, Shift Up used its investor update to narrow things down slightly. Shift Up reaffirmed that the Stellar Blade Nintendo Switch 2 release date is still set for 2026, and while the Korean developer still wouldn’t provide a specific date or month, it confirmed that the port is scheduled to launch during the second half of the year. The same report flagged a pricing strategy for the months ahead, with Shift Up stating: “Looking ahead, we plan to sustain sales momentum through seasonal and holiday promotions as well as strategic discounting, while also actively exploring further platform expansion.”
The Switch 2 launch also sits alongside Shift Up’s bigger franchise plans. SHIFT UP recently announced Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN, the long-awaited sequel to Stellar Blade. Bringing the original to Nintendo hardware first looks designed to build a wider audience before that sequel arrives, with new information about the Stellar Blade sequel and new Project Spirits action RPG expected in 2026, with both games launching in 2027.
Gamescom’s Opening Night Live kicks off on August 25, and this year’s showcase begins on Tuesday 25th August, giving Shift Up an obvious window to finally attach a calendar date to the “second half of 2026” promise. Until then, EVE’s next battlefield stays pencilled in rather than confirmed.
