S2G Esports Wins PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026 With 154 Points

S2G Esports won the 2026 PUBG Mobile World Cup in Paris on 16 August, surviving a final-match scare to finish the tournament on 154 points and claim their first global PUBG Mobile title since the 2022 PUBG Mobile Global Championship. The Turkish team earned $555,000 across its Grand Finals and group-stage placements from the event’s $3,025,000 prize pool.

The title was still available to S2G Esports, NS RedForce, Aurora Gaming, and eArena entering the last match of the 18-game Grand Finals. S2G were eliminated early and could only watch the remaining contenders, but none passed their 154-point total. Tianba eventually won the final game, leaving S2G at the top of the standings and confirming them as PMWC champions.

S2G Climbed From Ninth to the Championship Lead

The PMWC Grand Finals ran from 14 to 16 August with 16 teams competing across three days. S2G’s championship run began without any indication that they would eventually lead the field, as the team ended Day 1 in ninth place while eArena held first by only three points.

S2G began turning the tournament around in Match 8 on Day 2. A 15-elimination Chicken Dinner delivered 25 points, before the team followed with second, first, and third-place finishes in Matches 10, 11, and 12. That sequence lifted S2G to fourth by the end of the day after entering it well outside the leading positions.

eArena still controlled the standings at that stage. The Thai team had accumulated 112 points, 80 eliminations, and two wins through the opening two days, setting the final day’s SMASH Point threshold at 122.

Four Teams Entered the Final Match With a Chance to Win

The championship remained unresolved throughout the last day as Tianba, GodLike Esports, and Horaa Esports repeatedly denied teams that were positioned to close out the tournament. S2G became the third team to reach match-point eligibility in Game 15, but could not secure the victory needed to immediately end the event.

By the final match, S2G Esports, NS RedForce, Aurora Gaming, and eArena were all eligible to win under the SMASH ruleset. S2G could take the title either by claiming another Chicken Dinner or by preserving their overall points lead if none of their eligible rivals overtook them.

That second route became their only option when GodLike eliminated S2G relatively early, with SpoweRR producing a run that nearly removed two teams by himself. Alp “Solkay” Ayyıldız said the team initially feared the championship had slipped away: “Of course we felt bad once we died, as we knew our biggest rivals were still alive.”

The situation changed as S2G watched those rivals fall one after another. Tianba ultimately took the final Chicken Dinner, while S2G’s 154-point mark remained untouched at the top of the standings.

Tianba’s Qzz Takes FMVP After 35 Eliminations

Tianba did not leave Paris with the championship, but Zhang “Qzz” Qingbo finished the weekend as the tournament’s standout individual performer. Qzz received FMVP honours after recording 35 eliminations and 6,731 damage during the Grand Finals, with another tournament account also crediting him with 32 knockdowns.

The award came with $25,000 for Qzz and followed his MVP performance at the PUBG Mobile Macao Invitational in July. Tianba finished fifth overall after also winning the Survival Stage with 109 points, 70 eliminations, and two Chicken Dinners before the Grand Finals.

S2G Take Home $555,000 and a Place in the EWC Totem

S2G’s combined earnings from their first-place Grand Finals finish and group-stage placement totalled $555,000. Their victory also means the team’s Esports World Cup trophy will be permanently represented in the 2026 EWC Totem, the structure recording each game champion and the eventual overall Club Champion.

The keys belonging to the other competing teams are crushed after elimination, with their fragments preserved in the foundation of the same structure. S2G instead leave the event with the championship attached to their place in the Totem.

Faruk “HamsiG” Hamsici had previously won the 2022 PUBG Mobile Global Championship with a different S2G roster. The Paris victory therefore gave HamsiG his second global championship with the organisation, while Erman “Kamikaze” Topal and Berkay “Lost” Yılmaz collected the first major global trophies of their careers.

S2G Secure Their Place at the 2026 PMGC

The World Cup victory added 130 PMGC Points to S2G’s 2026 campaign. Combined with their points from the PUBG Mobile Global Open Season 1 Regionals and PMGO Season 1, the team reached 173 PMGC Points and secured qualification for the 2026 PUBG Mobile Global Championship in Türkiye.

S2G had reached the PMWC Grand Finals directly from the opening phase after the 32-team competition began on 6 August. For teams leaving Paris without securing their PMGC place, PUBG Mobile Global Open Season 2 is the next opportunity on the 2026 qualification path.
