Rainbow Six Siege Hacked as Players Get Billions of Credits and Random Bans

Rainbow Six Siege is deep in a mess right now, and the evidence keeps pointing toward a large-scale hack or exploit even as Ubisoft sticks to calling it a server incident. It’s escalated into full service outages across every platform, according to Ubisoft’s own service status page.
The community line right now is simple: stay offline. Reports keep stacking up of accounts getting billions of in-game credits dumped into them, developer-only skins that were never meant to leave internal builds, and random bans handed out with no pattern.
BREAKING: Ubisoft Rainbow Six Siege servers have been breached.
Players are reporting massive amounts of R6 Credits, Renown, Alpha Packs, and exclusive items unexpectedly.

Ubisoft Confirms Widespread Outages Across All Platforms
The official service status page for Rainbow Six Siege now shows critical issues across every major platform.

PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S are all showing the same pattern: authentication, in-game store access, and matchmaking listed as outages, connectivity marked degraded across the board. Ubisoft says it’s investigating. No recovery timeline yet, which for a live-service game at this scale is its own red flag.
The scale of the outages has further fuelled claims that this is far more serious than routine server instability.
Ubisoft’s Statement Draws Heavy Criticism
The official Rainbow Six account confirmed early on that it was aware of an incident and had teams working a fix. No mention of a breach, hack, or exploit anywhere in that statement.
We’re aware of an incident currently affecting Rainbow Six Siege. Our teams are working on a resolution.
We will share further updates once available. Rainbow Six Siege X (@Rainbow6Game) December 27, 2025
That framing hasn’t landed well. A lot of the community sees “server issue” as Ubisoft softening what’s clearly a deeper compromise, and the backlash reflects that gap between the official line and what core systems are actually showing.
Some players also questioned why the game remained online for hours while accounts were being altered in real time.
Players Report Billions of Credits, Dev Skins, and Ban Chaos
Players logging in during the incident found accounts stacked with billions of R6 Credits and Renown, thousands of Alpha Packs, and cosmetics that were never supposed to be accessible, developer skins, Glaciers, the works.
Why is nobody talking about what is happening on Siege right now? Everyone that logs in gets 2 Billion R6 credits, Renown, Developer Skins and Glaciers ???? pic.twitter.com/9SBiLdrirm

The in-game ban feed itself reportedly got hijacked, spitting out arbitrary messages instead of actual bans. Thousands of accounts got banned and unbanned in the same stretch, streamers and high-profile players included.

Prominent Siege creator KingGeorge described the situation as completely broken, warning players not to log in and strongly advising against spending any currency, as it could lead to bans or rollbacks once Ubisoft regains control.
Btw as a side note I would not login right now, definitely don’t spend any credits or renown could lead to a ban.

Community Expects Rollbacks, Fears Punishment
With authentication and account systems this broken, most players are expecting a full rollback from Ubisoft. The real worry is the innocent ones caught in between, players who spent credits assuming it was just a visual glitch and now risk eating a penalty for something they didn’t cause.
The counterpoint going around is that a mass ban wave would gut the active player base overnight. That’s the pressure Ubisoft is under: handle this wrong and the fallout outlasts the exploit itself.
The lack of clear communication has only intensified frustration, with players demanding transparency about what actually happened.
What Players Should Do Right Now
Until Ubisoft actually confirms this is resolved and explains what happened, the advice stands: stay offline, don’t log in, and if access comes back, don’t touch any credits or Renown.
Core services down worldwide and account integrity in question, this is the kind of incident that shapes how a live-service game is trusted for months afterward if it’s mishandled. More updates expected as Ubisoft’s investigation moves forward.
