Railbreak DX Brings Lightgun Co-op Horror to Consoles

Reload. Railbreak DX is out now, and it’s the arcade lightgun shooter dressed up for a night out.
Dead Drop Studios launched it on 4 September for PS5 with Pro enhancements, Xbox Series X|S with Play Anywhere, and Steam. It runs .99 USD, though international pricing shifts a bit. This is the DX cut of the original Railbreak, so you’re getting a big graphics upgrade, new content and rebalanced gameplay, plus up to two players in local co-op.
The framing is pure B-movie. Survivors Lydia and Hank fight their way into the Cypress Ridge Arcade during a zombie apocalypse, and to unwind after a long day of not dying, they boot up the newest cabinet: Railbreak DX. What follows is a six-act, fully voiced romp through a digital version of their own ruined city.
The guns do the talking. You’ll grab shotguns, machine guns, grenades and more to turn zombie hordes into paste. Six difficulty levels are on offer, including an Assisted mode for players who want the carnage without the sweat, so it scales from couch-party chaos to a real challenge.
Lightgun games are a rare treat these days, and a co-op one you can play on the couch is rarer still. If you miss the arcade, this is an easy .
