Twelve national teams will contest the PUBG Mobile Asian Games 2026 finals on Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 September at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Japan, as part of the esports programme at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. It is the second time PUBG Mobile has been an official medal event at the Games, following its debut at Hangzhou 2022, and China arrive as the reigning gold medallists.

The field was built three ways. Eight teams came through June’s qualifiers in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where 23 nations played for a place and Pakistan finished top of the table. China, the Republic of Korea, and Chinese Taipei qualified directly as the three medallists from Hangzhou, and host nation Japan takes the 12th and final spot.

All 12 Qualified Teams for the PUBG Mobile Asian Games Finals

Only eight of the 23 teams at the three-day qualifiers in Ho Chi Minh City made it to Japan, which means 15 nations were knocked out before the finals.

Finals Format, Maps and Scoring

Each team plays 12 matches across the two days, six on Monday and six on Tuesday. The first four matches of each day are on Erangel, and the final two move to Miramar, which works out to eight Erangel matches and four on Miramar overall.

Points do not reset overnight. The final rankings combine placement points and elimination points from both days, so whatever a team banks on Monday carries straight into Tuesday, and the combined table decides who takes gold, silver, and bronze. With two thirds of the matches on Erangel, a team’s form on that map is likely to carry most of the weight in the standings, though Miramar closes out both days and hosts the last two matches of the event.

PUBG Mobile’s Place at the Aichi-Nagoya Games

PUBG Mobile is the only battle royale on this year’s Asian Games esports programme. It is also the most widely represented esports title at the Games, with 27 National Olympic Committees (NOCs), the national bodies that enter teams at the Asian Games, competing across its tournament stages. That total matches the route to Japan: the 23 teams at the Ho Chi Minh City qualifiers, plus the three directly qualified Hangzhou medallists and host Japan.

The game’s medal debut came at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, which kept the 2022 name but were staged in 2023 after a year’s postponement. China defend the only PUBG Mobile gold the Asian Games has awarded so far, Pakistan go in as the qualifiers winners, and Japan will play the finals on home soil in Tokoname.
