No More Room in Hell 2 Passes 1 Million Units Sold, 25% Off on Steam and Epic in October

No More Room in Hell 2 has crossed 1 million units sold. Torn Banner Studios and publisher Green Man Gaming confirmed the milestone on 1 October, counting sales since the game’s 1.0 launch on 11 August 2026 across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

That’s under two months for a co-op zombie shooter that spent two years in Early Access and, by the studio’s own count, needed more than 8,000 bug fixes to get where it is now. To mark it, the game is 25% off on Steam and the Epic Games Store throughout October, with a 20% discount coming to PlayStation and Xbox later in the month.

1 Million Units in Under Two Months

The launch numbers are strong. Torn Banner says the game passed 1 million total players in its first week, peaked at nearly 16,000 concurrent players on Steam and climbed as high as number four on Steam’s US Top Sellers chart. According to the press release, that put it ahead of Madden NFL, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Marvel titles on that chart during launch week.

It also landed as the 4th best selling game in August on PlayStation 5 in North America, and player sentiment on Steam peaked at 90% positive in that same window. For the studio best known for Chivalry 2, this is officially its biggest launch to date.

1.3 Billion Zombies and 22.2 Million Extractions

The community stats are the fun part. Since 1.0, players have killed more than 1.3 billion zombies across 22.2 million successful Responder extractions. Torn Banner also says the average player has put in 19.3 hours, which is a big number for a game where one bad decision can end a run for good.

That permadeath hook is the whole identity here. You drop in as an emergency Responder, team up with up to seven other players, and try to finish objectives without getting bitten. Infection and permadeath for your Responder are always on the table, so every horde fight carries real weight. The 1.0 release added new maps, new game modes, gameplay refinements and full cross-play between PC and console.

25% Off on Steam and Epic All October

If you’ve been waiting for a price drop, this is it. No More Room in Hell 2 is 25% off on Steam and the Epic Games Store for the whole of October. The PlayStation and Xbox discount is 20% and lands later this month, though Torn Banner hasn’t given an exact date for the console sale yet.

On Steam the game’s regular price is $29.99, so the October discount brings it down to $22.49 in the US. It’s also running a double Responder XP weekend right now, which ends on 5 October at 1pm EDT, so it’s a decent week to jump in with a squad.

Torn Banner’s Biggest Launch Since Chivalry

Steve Piggott, CEO and Creative Director at Torn Banner Studios, called the milestone a huge one for the team and said it marks the game as one of the most commercially successful multiplayer survival horror releases in recent years. He also pointed to the two years of work on the improvements players asked for during Early Access, and said the studio has more updates planned.

Here’s my take. Early Access survival games usually go one of two ways. They either fade out quietly, or they grind through the rough patch and come out the other side with a real audience. No More Room in Hell 2 clearly did the second one, and 8,000 fixes is the receipt. I’d still wait to see how the endgame updates land before calling it a long-term hit, but a million sales in seven weeks is a strong place to build from.
