Kitaria Fables 2 Closed Beta Opens in September With Half the Game
PQube has opened registrations for a closed beta of Kitaria Fables 2, running 7 to 21 September on Steam. Sign-ups close on 4 September.
The beta is not a slice. Selected players get a build containing over half of Alice and Dusty’s adventure across the Arkadera Peninsula, an unusually large chunk of a game that is not due to release until spring 2027.
Half a game, six months out
Handing testers more than fifty percent of the content roughly six months before launch is a real commitment to acting on what comes back. Most closed betas at this distance are a vertical slice designed to stress servers or validate an opening hour; a build this size is one you send when you still intend to change things.
Developers Secret Level Studios and Twin Hearts have said the feedback will be used to refine the game before release, and the two-week window gives enough runway for testers to reach content most previews never touch.
A frontier that nature took back
The setting is the Arkadera Peninsula, once the western edge of an Empire that has since receded. As imperial presence faded, the outposts protecting the region were reclaimed by wilderness, leaving a single walled settlement: Whitewall Town, as what remains of the community.
Players take the pair of Alice Skylar, an ambitious Royal Army Pathfinder, and Dusty Tuftkin, a local guide, joining a Royal Academy expedition to reopen Whitewall’s errand house and push back out into the peninsula.
That framing puts the errand house at the centre of the structure, which suggests the sequel keeps the quest-driven loop the first game built its farming and combat around rather than moving to open-ended exploration.
Four platforms at launch
The full game is set for a digital release in spring 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. A story trailer accompanied the beta announcement.
Only the PC version is in the beta, so console players in New Zealand and Australia wanting early hands-on will need a Steam copy. Registration is open now and closes 4 September, with the test itself running 7 to 21 September.
