Keep Her Safe Hits 1.0 on Steam 12 October With Three New Seaside Maps

An evolved chicken in a suit, a minigun and a world full of zombies. Keep Her Safe leaves Early Access and hits 1.0 on PC via Steam on Monday, 12 October 2026. Gugu Studio’s isometric mix of extraction shooter and tower defense is bringing new maps, new towers and proper online co-op with it.
The setup is gloriously silly. An acid rain carrying an unknown virus wiped out humanity and turned people into zombies, but some animals survived and evolved. You play one of them, recruiting fellow animal mercenaries to protect humanity’s last surviving girl and keep a rocket project alive that could end the acid rain for good.

Three New Seaside Maps: Beach, Town and School
The big content drop in 1.0 is the Seaside area, split into three new maps: Beach, Town and School. They join existing zones like Hillside Outpost and Highway’s End, for nine distinct zones to scavenge across in total.
Runs work like a classic extraction loop. You gear up, head into the wasteland, fight through zombies, grab resources and get back out with your loot. You’ve got to manage inventory space as things pile up, so there’s always a decision about what’s worth carrying home.
Each run also feeds the base. Every expedition brings back materials you need to keep the Energy Core powered, and that core is what keeps the whole operation alive. Lose it to a horde and the rocket project is in serious trouble.
Mercenary Loadouts and New Tower Defense Structures
Version 1.0 lets you customize loadouts for the mercenaries you recruit, mixing and matching from a range of firearms before heading out. Back at base, you build an iron fortress from scavenged materials, upgrade it through the adventure and place automatic defense towers with swappable weapons. Fences and sandbags help hold the line too.
New structures arrive in 1.0 as well, ranging from Taunt Dummies to Poison Gas Towers. You’ll also face more than 15 corrupted bosses, including Laughing Clown Macchi, Plague Wraith Monica and Glutton Gerton.

Online Co-op, Soccer and a Hardcore Mode
Until now you were on your own. In 1.0, you can team up with a friend to tackle the main story campaign in online co-op, covering each other’s positioning and taking down bosses together. Co-op also opens up unexpected events and hidden content in the wasteland.
There are two new party modes when you want a break from the apocalypse. One is soccer, played by animal soldiers in a junkyard arena. The other is co-op Tower Defense against zombie hordes. For the sweatier crowd, there’s a new hardcore mode on the global leaderboard where death is permanent.
Honestly, the soccer mode sold me. Any zombie survival game confident enough to stop and let a chicken take penalty kicks has its priorities right.
