GTA Online Halloween Event Brings Triple Rewards on Slasher Modes and Halloween Survivals

Halloween is live in GTA Online, and Rockstar is running it all month. Slasher modes and Halloween Survivals pay triple GTA$ and RP, UFO Business Battles and Jack O’Lantern hunting pay double, and most of the bonuses run straight through to 4 November.

On top of that, there’s free Halloween apparel every week just for logging in and playing, plus a GTA$2,000,000 bonus if you finish every weekly challenge in October. If you only play GTA Online a few times a year, this is a good stretch to do it.

Triple GTA$ and RP on Slashers and Halloween Survivals

The triple rewards list is the main event. Through 4 November you get 3X GTA$ and RP on Slasher modes, Halloween Survivals, the San Andreas Super Sport Series and the Community Race Series.

Double GTA$ and RP covers Bail Office Targets, Dispatch Work, UFO Business Battles and collecting Jack O’Lanterns, also through 4 November. Ghosts Exposed pays 2X GTA$ for hunting down the spirits around San Andreas, and photographing all 10 of them unlocks the Ghosts Exposed Jacket.

The Clone Slasher, the Phantom Car and the Peyote Plants are back as well, so the usual spooky side activities are all in play.

GTA$2,000,000 for Clearing Every Weekly Challenge

Each week of the event has its own challenge with cash and a cosmetic reward:

Through 7 October: complete two Bail Office Bounties for the Green Vintage Skull Mask and GTA$100,000. From 8 to 14 October: win two Adversary modes for the Pink Skull Emissive Mask and GTA$100,000. From 15 to 21 October: win three Races for the Orange Glow Skeleton Onesie and GTA$100,000.

From 22 to 28 October: finish every wave of a Survival for the Gray Space Interloper Outfit and GTA$150,000. From 29 October to 4 November: complete 10 waves of a Survival for the Slasher Clown Outfit and GTA$250,000.

Do all five and you get an extra GTA$2,000,000 on top. Added up, that’s GTA$2.7 million in challenge money for the month. None of the challenges are hard, so the only real requirement is remembering to log in every week.

Free Halloween Apparel Every Week

Just playing GTA Online during each week unlocks a free item. The Cheerleader Massacre 3 T-Shirt is up through 7 October, the Twilight Knife T-Shirt from 8 to 14 October, and the Butchery and Other Hobbies T-Shirt from 15 to 21 October. The Tech Demon Mask follows from 22 to 28 October, and the final week from 29 October to 4 November brings the Brown Vintage Skull Mask and the Halloween Chute Bag.

Vehicle Discounts and GTA+ Rewards

There are two rounds of vehicle sales. Through 7 October, you can get 30% off the Declasse Vigero ZX, Sea Sparrow, Nagasaki Buzzard Attack Chopper, Lampadati Komoda, Western Powersurge, Benefactor Schlagen GT, Ocelot Ardent, Nagasaki Ultralight and Grotti Brioso 300. Through 4 November, the LCC Sanctus, Albany Brigham, Albany Lurcher, Albany Fränken Stange and Declasse Tornado Rat Rod are all 40% off.

GTA+ members can claim the Pegassi Horus through 7 October. From 8 October, they also get the Pegassi Oppressor motorcycle with the Skulls livery and more Halloween extras.

My pick for the month: triple payouts on Halloween Survivals stack nicely with the last two weekly challenges, which are both Survival-based. Save some of your Survival grinding for late October and you’ll get paid twice for the same runs. With GTA 6 on the horizon, it’s nice to see Rockstar still giving GTA Online a proper Halloween event instead of a quiet one.
