Farever Call to Glory Update Is Out Now With Heroic Mode, Epic Gear and Weekly Boss Unlocks

Heroic Mode is open in Farever. Shiro Games pushed the Call to Glory update live on 30 September, and its second major Early Access update is now available to every player with the new endgame difficulty, Epic-tier gear, infusions and a long list of social features.
We covered the announcement back in September. Now that it’s out, there are a few details that weren’t in the original reveal, including a weekly boss rollout, a new reputation system and a big performance pass.
Six Heroic Bosses Now, More Every Week in October
Heroic Mode isn’t fully unlocked yet. Six bosses can be fought on Heroic right now, and Shiro says the rest will arrive each week throughout October. The six available Heroic instances are the Lost City of Mayda, Crabgantua’s Gorge, Mine Estrone, Ratsar’s Lair, the Trunk of the Hivetree and Lady Bee’s Palace.
Heroic builds on the top level of Veteran difficulty, which is what Hard Mode is now called. Bosses get new mechanics and patterns, attacks can behave differently, new dangers appear mid-fight, and some bosses have extra phases that change the whole encounter.

Clearing Heroic content earns Medals of Glory, a new currency you can spend at new merchants in Navelin and the Valley of the Eternal Autumn. A hotfix on 1 October also made your first Heroic dungeon clear award 100 Medals of Glory, enough to buy a chest from the merchant right away.
Epic Gear Infusions and Set Bonuses
The loot side is where the endgame gets its hooks. Heroic drops Epic-tier gear, and that gear can be infused. Stack the same infusion across several items and you unlock set bonuses. Shiro’s example, Life-giving Spring, heals you on skill use at two pieces, adds Fervor at four, and at six pieces gives you a shield worth 25% of your max health that explodes when it expires, damaging enemies and healing allies.
The update also overhauls weapon skill scaling. Many dual-class weapon skills now scale off two attributes instead of one, which Shiro says is meant to fix underpowered builds and open up new hybrid setups. The Rogue talent tree has been reworked too.

Friend Lists, Reputation and Revives
Social features were the most requested part of this update, and they’re all in. You get friend and ignore lists, extra chat channels, emotes, a compass, a group HUD and a player inspection option. Allies can now be revived during boss fights, and group rewards and loot have been improved.
There’s also a reputation system that wasn’t part of the original announcement. Two factions are live at launch. The Pilgrims of Merilam reward exploration, activities and treasure hunting, and that reputation is retroactive, so earlier progress counts. The Riftstalker Sisterhood rewards clearing rifts, killing demons and making offerings of corrupted gifts. More factions are planned during Early Access.

DLSS 3, Hotfixes and Price
Shiro also shipped a big performance pass with the update, adding DLSS 3 and triple buffering, cutting CPU load and improving shader compilation. Players reported a wave of stutters after launch, and the studio traced it to shader compilation and patched it on 1 October. A second set of patch notes on 2 October tuned several Heroic bosses based on feedback.
Game Director Quentin Lapeyre said the update takes Farever’s endgame to the next level and that community feedback guided the changes beyond Heroic Mode.
Farever is in Early Access on PC via Steam for $19.99. My take: the weekly boss drip is a smart way to keep a small Early Access community logging in through October, and fast hotfixes in the first 48 hours are a good sign the team is listening.
