Disney Dreamlight Valley Pixel Perfect Update Adds Wreck-It Ralph and Best Friends

The free Pixel Perfect update landed in Disney Dreamlight Valley on 29 July 2026, pulling Wreck-It Ralph out of a malfunctioning arcade machine and rebuilding the top end of the Friendship system around a new Best Friends tier. It shipped across every platform at once, including Apple Arcade.

Three seasonal events run off the back of it. As of 9 August 2026, Summer Sizzle is the event currently live and closes on 18 August, followed by the debut Parks Floating Festival from 19 August and the return of Memory Mania in September. The Pop City Star Path is also active, and a Clear Biome decorating feature listed in the original patch notes was pulled from most versions before launch.

How To Unlock Wreck-It Ralph In Your Valley

Ralph sits behind existing progress. You need both The Forgotten and Peter Pan unlocked, and the quest “The Music’s on the Walls” completed, before the questline will begin. Players who skipped The Forgotten’s storyline cannot reach Ralph at all without clearing it first.

From there the trigger is a glitching arcade machine that turns up near the Dream Castle. The machine makes several more appearances around the Valley before settling in Vanellope’s home, and repairing it means gathering pies, root beer, and bricks to build the beacon that frees Ralph.

What Ralph Adds Once He Moves In

His Friendship quests cover a Bad-Anon meeting, a reunion with Vanellope, and a run of arcade-inspired adventures, friendly competitions, and scavenger hunts as his Friendship level climbs. He also causes a few glitches of his own along the way, which players then have to clean up.

Ralph was visible in some of the earliest Disney Dreamlight Valley trailers back in 2022, which makes his arrival the closing of a four-year gap between tease and release. The update follows the Honeyglow Woods adventure pack and its Winnie the Pooh content, trading that woodland setting for a digital one.

Best Friends Replaces The Level 10 Friendship Cap

Reaching Friendship Level 10 with a villager now converts their Star Icon into a Gold Heart progress bar. That bar resets daily and can be filled once per day per villager, and filling it unlocks a hangout with that Best Friend.

The hangout applies a Best Friend Glow to both of you for a limited time, granting the max level role bonus for every role rather than only the villager’s assigned one. Sprinting and gliding while the Glow is active drain its duration instead of your Stamina. Because the Glow covers all roles at once, a single Best Friend session can carry gathering, mining, and fishing bonuses together.

Level 7 Villagers Now Gather Items For You

Villagers at Friendship Level 7 and above can be sent out to collect resources. You pick one item tied to that villager’s base role from any unlocked biome, and the bundle is ready to claim from them the following day. There is no cap on how many villagers you can send at once, and they stay available in the Valley while they are gathering. Level 10 villagers can also be reached directly through Fast Travel from the Map.

Gifting And Training Manual Changes

  • Training Manuals can now change a villager’s role at any Friendship Level, rather than only at Level 10
  • Crafting recipes for Training Manuals have been revised to make them easier to produce
  • Multiple items can be selected from the inventory and gifted in one action
  • Each villager’s favourite gift can be re-rolled once per day

Pop City Star Path Rewards

The Pop City Star Path runs on free and premium tracks and is built around a live music theme. Duties pay out luminous stage pieces, city-core furniture, vibrant lighting, and concert attire aimed at performance builds and DreamSnaps entries.

Two of the outfits take their design from Marie and Berlioz from Disney’s The Aristocats. A calico cat companion also unlocks through the Star Path.

Summer Sizzle, Parks Floating Festival And Memory Mania Dates

Summer Sizzle opened on 5 August and runs until 18 August. Collecting marshmallows and sharing s’mores with villagers feeds a set of daily quests, and the reward list includes picnic baskets that can be gifted for Friendship XP or sold for Star Coins, plus a kit for the first buildable dock the game has ever had.

The Parks Floating Festival is entirely new. It opens on 19 August and runs to 8 September on a themed floating island built around Disney Parks, with weekly puzzles to clear for rewards. Memory Mania then returns from 16 to 29 September with Joy from Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out, running spot-the-difference quests on Memories and unlocking a new companion.

Decorating Changes And New Floating Islands

Biome-specific crafting recipes are the headline decorating addition, starting with a fae-themed furniture set for the Peaceful Meadow built from that biome’s own ingredients. It is the first in a planned series following the same pattern.

Edit Mode has picked up a Quick Save option, letting you commit decorating progress without running Save and Exit. Owners of Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale can also unlock three new Floating Islands using Story Magic, themed on The Bind, Mythopia, and Everafter.

Environmental Effects

Environmental Effects are a new decor category with their own “Special” section in the decoration menu. They apply per area rather than per item, covering a Biome, a Sub-Biome, or a Floating Island, and the existing Aurora Borealis now sits in the category alongside the new Meteor Shower Sky.

Premium Shop And Scrooge McDuck Store Additions

The Deluxe Tropical Valley Bundle is the largest Premium Shop drop, covering new looks for the Plaza, Dream Castle, Daisy’s Boutique, Chez Remy’s, Scrooge’s Store, and the Valley Visit Station. The Meteor Shower Sky Environmental Effect arrives alongside it.

A Village Schoolhouse Skin and matching Village Schoolyard Kit cover the back-to-school window, with the Scholarly Owl and Fantasia Broomstick companions landing in the same update. Select bundles, including some already in the shop, now ship with premade decoration Presets.

Scrooge McDuck’s Store is rotating clothing weekly, with the Pink Leopard Tank Top, Dreamlight Varsity Jacket, Artist’s Overalls, Enchanted Castle Tuxedo, and Crimson Wayfinder Patterned Skirt named so far. Seasonal Moonstone packs are available for a limited window, with contents not yet detailed. None of this reaches the Apple Arcade Edition, which carries neither seasonal Star Paths nor Premium Shop access.

Olaf’s Grand Exhibition And DreamSnaps Changes

Two new Exhibition rooms open with the update, themed on the Sunlit Plateau and the Frosted Heights, each carrying its own completion rewards.

DreamSnaps voting has been standardised so both images in a 1v1 vote occupy the same amount of space, with the full screen view still available before voting. A Super Vote feature listed in the original patch notes did not ship. Gameloft confirmed on 28 July that it had been moved to a later update, with no replacement date given.

Full Bug Fix List

Two reward claim issues are being handled through the game’s Trello tracker rather than an in-game fix. Players who missed the Week 5 Vault Furniture Reward during the Godly Glamor Star Path, and eligible players who never received the Honeyglow Woods Early Adopter Bonus, both need to follow the tracker’s claim steps.

Base Game Fixes

  • “Medicinal Mortality”: Hercules could become stuck in certain locations
  • “Canine Cuisine”: the Purple Fruit did not spawn near the Cheshire Cat’s Tree when the tree was placed in Wishblossom Ranch, and was posted to the mailbox instead
  • “The Sunken Ruins”: Merlin’s dialogue could loop
  • “Grown-Up Things”: the Butterfly Key could vanish after pickup, stalling the quest
  • Lost and Found messages could contain more items than the inventory could hold
  • Furniture could not be placed on top of Lava Stone Trail or Crystal Paving Stones
  • The reward screen could not be dismissed with the Esc key or the gamepad back button
  • NPCs could not be positioned through photo mode NPC control in Mythopia

Honeyglow Woods And Expansion Fixes

  • “Chapter 2: About Thought, Fog, and Light”: the shopping list disappeared before the stall could be unlocked
  • “Chapter 4: A Tail Tale”: Eeyore could be missing at step 27
  • “Chapter 7: A Voice Behind the Door”: clearing Honey Swirls in Braveheart Grove with the Ancient Vacuum too early blocked progression
  • “Chapter 10: Most Grand Adventure”: a flagpole could be interacted with early, creating confusion
  • “Interlude 2: The Gloomy Hollow”: the Secondary Colors Potion could fail to appear, and the path to Braveheart Grove could fail to clear
  • “Interlude 3: The Shadowy Surprise”: the crack in the wall was too hard to interact with, and players could get stuck at 0/4 Honeypots
  • Green reward chests could drop behind a bush in the Everoak tree in Gloommeadow, out of reach
  • Flowers were not respawning quickly enough in Honeyglow Woods

Clear Biome Was Pulled From Every Platform Except Apple

The 27 July patch notes listed a Clear Biome feature for Furniture mode. Gameloft found a critical bug in it the week before launch and stripped it from the Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and Epic Games Store versions, while the Nintendo and Apple builds still carried it at that point.

A follow-up on 28 July confirmed the Nintendo version would ship without the feature after all. That left Apple as the only platform where Clear Biome actually went live, and using it there can damage quest progress, which is why Gameloft told Apple players to leave it alone.

No public update has been issued on the Apple hotfix since that 28 July note. Clear Biome itself is set to return across all platforms in a later update.
