CRYMELIGHT Confirmed for Nov. 5 on PS5, Switch 2, PC at $19.99

No name, no memories, and a white rabbit for a tour guide. That’s the setup FuRyu has confirmed for CRYMELIGHT, its Alice in Wonderland-flavoured roguelite, which the studio says will launch on November 5 for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. The game will be priced at $19.99, and according to Gematsu, it will launch for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC via Steam on November 5, with a playtime of 20 to 30 hours.

That’s a tidy length for a roguelite. It’s short enough that you won’t be grinding the same three biomes into December, and long enough that FuRyu clearly built more than a Hades reskin with a top hat on.

Fans have been arguing over whether a “poker-style” build system can actually carry a roguelite, or whether it’s just a marketing hook:

Alice, the White Rabbit and a Death Game With One Way Out

The story leans hard into Lewis Carroll, filtered through FuRyu’s usual “dark bishoujo” house style. Per Gematsu’s rundown of the reveal, this is Wonderland, a prison for the souls of the dead, and a girl bereft of her memories is granted the name “Alice” by her guide, the White Rabbit. She is led to the site of a tea party, where she learns of a rule: only those who can defeat the Queen are granted freedom, and so Alice joins forces with a mysterious girl called Mary and resolves to participate in the game to return to her world. Whenever she comes into contact with the sins of her companions, she is able to see the painful pasts they experienced.

It’s a grim spin on a children’s book, and it’s not the first time FuRyu has gone there. CRYMELIGHT follows 2018’s CRYSTAR and 2023’s CRYMACHINA as the third entry in the publisher’s Cry series, though you won’t need either to follow this one.

Skill Cards Turn Every Descent Into a Poker Hand

Structurally, players bounce between two spaces. Wonderland is where the fighting happens, and the Tea Party Hall is the hub for upgrades and story beats between attempts. MonsterVine’s breakdown of the mechanics notes that defeating enemies expands the Wonder Dimension, a blue-violet space that boosts Alice’s movement and abilities, and the system adapts to acquired skills, letting players shape how they fight as the battlefield expands.

The card layer sits on top of that. Between stages, players collect Skill Cards through a poker-style build system, and stronger card combinations create stronger effects, changing attack power, movement, and combat flow. Die in Wonderland and you’re not locked out. If Alice dies, she returns to the Tea Party Hall to plan her next attempt.

There’s even a choice in how you watch it happen. Players can switch between two presentation styles: World-Immersion Mode, which minimizes UI, brings the camera closer, and focuses more on atmosphere, and Action Mode, which pulls the camera back to a top-down perspective, keeps combat information visible, and places greater emphasis on readability during fights. That’s a genuinely useful accessibility option for a genre that lives or dies on whether you can actually read the screen.

A Demo FuRyu Couldn’t Cut Short, and 60,000 Wishlists

FuRyu let players kick the tyres early. A “Battle Demo” went live on Steam and was originally meant to end on August 9, but the studio kept it running past that date after the response it got. On the game’s Steam Community hub, FuRyu wrote that the demo was originally scheduled to be available for a limited time until August 9, but after receiving many requests from players who wanted more time with the demo, the studio decided to keep it available beyond that date so more people could enjoy the game.

The numbers backed up the demand. Final Weapon reported that FuRyu announced roguelike action game CRYMELIGHT has surpassed 60,000 wishlists worldwide on Steam, and in addition to the wishlists milestone, the demo period for CRYMELIGHT has been extended thanks to demand from fans. For an original, mid-priced roguelite with no existing fanbase to draw on, that’s a solid number to walk into launch week with.

Landing Two Weeks Ahead of GTA 6’s November 19 Launch

November 5 isn’t a random pick. Rockstar has locked Grand Theft Auto 6 for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, a date Forbes confirmed remains November 19, 2026, a week before Black Friday. That puts CRYMELIGHT’s launch in the fortnight right before the biggest release of the decade eats every headline and every shelf slot going.

Here at ShaneTheGamer we think that’s smart scheduling rather than accidental. A niche, story-heavy roguelite has no chance competing for attention in GTA 6’s launch week, so slotting in two weeks early gives it a clean run before the industry’s biggest game swallows the news cycle whole.

If you’re weighing it up on price, PlayStation’s Australian storefront already has digital pre-orders live. CRYMELIGHT’s standard edition is listed at a pre-order price of $29.95 AUD, with the Deluxe Edition at $59.95 AUD, both carrying a 10 percent pre-order discount that expires at launch.
