Borderlands 4 Adds Loveless the Hacker as New Vault Hunter

Borderlands 4 is getting a new Vault Hunter, and she’s not messing around. Loveless the Hacker drops as paid DLC on 10 September.
2K and Gearbox pulled the covers off her in the latest Gearbox DevCast, with designer Ryan Bailey walking through her Trait, Action Skills and three separate skill trees. Loveless is an ex-Anshin hacker turned assassin who fused her body with digital power to chase her own idea of perfection. Her mind is shared with a virus she wrote herself, and that virus can build itself a body, a Wyrm, to fight at her side.

Her kit reads as fast and nasty. She throws a Plague Star shuriken to cut through crowds while spreading a Contagion that wears enemies down over time. Between the shuriken, the Wyrm and three skill trees to mix, she looks like the kind of character you’ll respec a dozen times chasing the perfect build.
There’s story here too. The new Character Short, “Uncontainable,” digs into the shared head-space between Loveless and Wyrm as she recounts a violent dive into the digiverse hunting Vault data. It’s a lot of setup for a DLC character, which usually means Gearbox has plans for her.
If you’ve already sunk hours into the base game, a fresh Vault Hunter is the easiest reason to jump back in. Loveless lands 10 September.
