Team Liquid Sign JT As New IGL After Benching siuhy

Johnny “JT” Theodosiou has taken over calling duties for Team Liquid, with the South African in-game leader signing on 22 July 2026 to replace Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek. The announcement confirms a report first published by Dust2.us in June, which named JT as Liquid’s target well before siuhy was moved to the bench on Tuesday.

The elephant in the room has finally been addressed, and the rumors are true.

JT arrives with an in-game leading resume built across Bravado, Cloud9, and Complexity, and reunites with a former Complexity teammate already on the Liquid roster. His debut comes on Friday.

Why Liquid Moved On From siuhy

Siuhy’s benching followed a season in which Liquid posted one of the worst T side win-rates in the entire scene. Their only playoff appearance came at BLAST Bounty Season 1, and that route ran through the online group stage rather than a direct qualification. The season closed with a 2-3 exit from Stage 1 of the IEM Cologne Major.

A T side win-rate that low is a leadership metric more than an individual one, since attacking rounds are where an IGL’s structure, mid-round calls, and utility scripting are most exposed. Replacing the caller rather than a rifler follows directly from where the numbers were failing.

The EliGE Reunion And What It Brings

JT’s arrival puts him back alongside Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, the pair having previously played together at Complexity. That partnership produced several deep runs: a title at ESL Challenger Jönköping 2024, a second-place finish at IEM Sydney 2023, and semi-final finishes at both ESL Pro League Season 19 and BLAST Premier Fall Final 2023.

Team Liquid’s Updated CS2 Roster

The JT signing is Liquid’s second off-season change. Georgi “Jorko” Mitev was brought in earlier to take over the big green from Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak, leaving the org with two Polish players on the bench.

JT’s Debut Against Vitality At BLAST Bounty Season 2

The new-look five get their first competitive run together on Friday 24 July, during the online portion of BLAST Bounty Season 2, with the match scheduled for 21:00. Liquid will field their starting five from the outset, JT calling and Jorko on the AWP, rather than easing the pair in with a stand-in.

Seeded 30th in the tournament, Liquid held the pick of their opponent and chose Vitality ahead of the other two remaining sides, Falcons and Spirit. Taking the top-ranked option over Falcons or Spirit hands the new roster its hardest possible first test, on the same day the lineup debuts.
