Palworld Online Release Date Confirmed For 2026 On Android And iOS

Palworld Online, the licensed mobile MMO built on Pocketpair’s survival creature-collector, arrives on Android and iOS at some point in 2026, with Singapore-based Garena handling both development and global publishing. The announcement landed on 3 August, and as of 5 August the year is confirmed but the date is not.
What has been detailed is the shape of the game: a seamless open world, shared settlements run with friends, cooperative PvE and competitive PvP content, and an original story written for this version rather than carried across from the PC release.
Palworld Online Release Date And Platforms
The release window sits inside 2026, on Android and iOS, with no month or day attached. Garena’s announcement states only that the game is scheduled to be available within the year, and that the launch timeline will be unveiled at a later date.
The licensing structure is unusually tidy for a project of this kind. Garena Online Private Limited holds an official licence from Pocketpair, Inc. and is credited with both development and global publishing, so the schedule is one company’s call rather than a coordination between an external studio and a separate publisher.
What Garena Is Building Under The Pocketpair Licence
Palworld Online is described as a multiplayer survival adventure that reimagines the depth, freedom, and scale of the original PC title for mobile, expanding it into a massively multiplayer online ecosystem. Players travel a vast, interconnected world alongside Pals, capturing and raising them, unlocking new regions across the map, and turning up hidden treasures, lore clues, and challenges along the way.
The narrative is where the project separates itself from the PC game hardest. Alongside its own setting, original story, and unique lore, Palworld Online will carry new side stories created exclusively for this version. Because that content has no counterpart in Palworld 1.0, the mobile release is a different proposition from a port shrinking the same campaign onto a smaller screen.
“Palworld is a widely recognized IP, and we see an opportunity to bring the essence of the PC title to mobile in a way that encourages players to connect and venture together,” said Terry Zhao, President at Garena. “Working closely with Pocketpair, we are focused on preserving the depth, immersion, and freedom that define Palworld, while thoughtfully optimising the experience for mobile play.”
Shared Bases, World Bosses, And PvP
Multiplayer is the organising idea rather than an add-on. Players meet others out in the world, form groups, build shared settlements, and move between cooperative and competitive content without leaving that world. The slate covers challenging PvE encounters with friends, PvP matches, visits to other players’ bases, rampaging open-world bosses, and joint hunts for rare Pals.
The shared home base grows into a hub for crafting, defence, and daily life, with structures expanded over time and Pals deployed to automate production and safeguard the settlement. Stationing Pals on production and defence duty is what keeps a group’s base running while its members are out in the field, which is the mechanism holding the persistent settlements together.
Touch Controls And Device Support
The interface has been rebuilt for handheld play rather than transplanted. Palworld Online uses a streamlined, touch-friendly interface with optional one-tap controls, aimed at making base planning, construction, relocation, and Pal deployment manageable without a mouse and keyboard.
Garena has also flagged performance breadth as a design target, promising flexibility across a wide range of phone specifications and stating that base design, construction, relocation, and Pal management should run smoothly across a wide range of smartphone models. Building base management around single taps is the part of that promise that carries the most weight, since those are the interactions the PC version spreads across hotkeys and menus.
Crossplay, Cross-Progression, And Single Player Remain Unconfirmed
Neither Garena nor Pocketpair has announced cross-progression or crossplay between Palworld Online and Palworld 1.0. No single-player mode or dedicated offline play has been announced either, and neither point is addressed anywhere in the announcement material.
With no cross-progression announced and a story that does not exist in the PC game, there is currently no stated route for Palworld 1.0 progress to carry into the mobile release. Monetisation has not been outlined either, and no launch territory list has been published.
Garena’s Record With Licensed Mobile Titles
Garena is best known for Free Fire, its self-developed mobile battle royale, which has been the most downloaded mobile game in its genre for seven consecutive years according to Sensor Tower App Performance Insights, and has ranked as the world’s most downloaded mobile game across multiple years since 2019. The company also licenses and publishes hit titles from global partners, including Arena of Valor and Call of Duty: Mobile, in selected markets, and runs a substantial esports operation.
Garena sits under Sea Limited (NYSE:SE), the technology group whose other core businesses are e-commerce arm Shopee and digital financial services arm Monee. That publishing and live-operations record is the reason Pocketpair gave for the partnership.
“Garena has extensive experience in global publishing, localisation, and live operations for mobile games,” said Takuro Mizobe, CEO of Pocketpair. “We are pleased to work with Garena on the licensed development of Palworld Online and look forward to seeing a new Palworld experience brought to players worldwide.”
Where Palworld Sits After Its 1.0 Launch
The announcement follows shortly after Palworld 1.0 went live on console and PC, closing out a development run that head of publishing and communications John Buckley put at around four and a half years during ChinaJoy 2026, with the team scaling from roughly 20 staff to 90. Handing the mobile build to an external licensee rather than growing that team again is what keeps Pocketpair’s headcount pointed at its own titles.
Palworld first exploded in January 2024 during its early access release, an open-world survival crafting game where players capture Pals and then put them to work, fight with them, breed them, and sell them. The success also drew litigation from Nintendo over the game’s mechanics, a dispute that ultimately saw the Japan Patent Office reject Nintendo’s monster-catching patent.
Pocketpair’s back catalogue also includes Craftopia and Overdungeon, and the studio expanded the Palworld IP beyond video games in July 2026 with the release of the Palworld Official Card Game.
Krafton’s Palworld Mobile Is A Separate Project
Palworld Online is not the only licensed Palworld game heading to phones. In 2024, PUBG publisher Krafton was confirmed to be developing and publishing its own mobile take on the original game, titled Palworld Mobile, and that project ran a closed alpha test in late 2025. It is entirely separate from Garena’s.
Krafton’s version has therefore already put builds in front of testers while Garena’s has yet to show a single frame, leaving two licensed mobile Palworld games in development at two different publishers, at two very different stages.
| Title | Publisher | Announced | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Palworld Online | Garena | 3 August 2026 | In development, scheduled for 2026 on Android and iOS |
| Palworld Mobile | Krafton | 2024 | In development, closed alpha test ran in late 2025 |
What Garena Still Has To Show Before The End Of 2026
As of 5 August, under five months of 2026 remain, and Garena has released no trailer, no gameplay footage, and no promotional images alongside the announcement. A reveal, any test phase, and the launch itself all have to fit inside what is left of the year.
Pre-registration has not opened and no window for it has been given. Garena has said the pre-registration details and the full launch timeline will be revealed through the game’s official Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Discord, and Reddit channels.
