FaZe Vegas Win Call of Duty Champs 2026, Beat OpTic Texas 5-2 to Deny a Threepeat

FaZe Vegas are Call of Duty champions again, beating OpTic Texas 5-2 in the Black Ops 7 grand final on Sunday at the Michelob ULTRA Arena inside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The win takes the $800,000 top share of the $2 million prize pool and ends OpTic’s bid for a third consecutive Champs trophy.

It is FaZe’s first world title in five years, and it came on their home turf.

Grand Final Map by Map

OpTic drew first blood before FaZe took control of a series that ran to seven maps.

The opening Hardpoint initially went FaZe’s way before OpTic found their feet and snatched it. FaZe equalised on Raid by pushing the Search to round eleven and closing it out in the dying seconds, then took the first Overload with Abuzah going enormous for more than 40 kills in the map. The pattern held on the Scar Hardpoint, and another round-eleven Search on Den went FaZe’s way despite OpTic’s best efforts. Every time OpTic looked for traction, FaZe were there to shut it down, with Abuzah and 04, both relative newcomers at this level, posting big numbers against the reigning champions. OpTic finally got a foothold with a close Overload on Den, but it was not enough, and FaZe held firm in the final Search on Hacienda to lift the trophy.

The Road There

FaZe went through the upper bracket without dropping a series, beating G2 Minnesota 3-1, Riyadh Falcons 3-0, and then OpTic 3-2 in the winners finals. That defeat dropped OpTic into the lower bracket, where they eliminated Riyadh Falcons to earn the rematch.

OpTic had come in as the favourite, sitting just ahead of LA Thieves in the prediction stakes, with Polymarket users backing them throughout the event. LA Thieves instead crashed out without winning a single series. The final itself was billed as an El Clásico, the first time in CDL history the Champs final has featured these two organisations.

What the Win Means for the Roster

This is FaZe’s second Champs title, after their first in 2021 during the Black Ops Cold War season when the organisation was still based in Atlanta. The quartet of Simp, Drazah, Abuzah and 04 denied both OpTic’s threepeat and a fourth ring for Shotzzy.

Simp, who was part of that 2021 Atlanta FaZe side and the eUnited team crowned in 2019 during Black Ops 4, claimed his third CDL Championship and took tournament MVP. That third title puts the 25-year-old in the sport’s most exclusive company, alongside Crimsix, Clayster, Karma and Shotzzy as the winningest players in league history. Drazah picked up his second world title, having won with LA Thieves in 2022 during Vanguard, while Abuzah and 04 took their first, the former Vancouver Surge standouts avenging their finals loss to OpTic last year.

The season had been mixed for FaZe, who finished third in the regular season standings but took the CDL Major 2 title against this same opponent. Their year ends with the trophy that counts.
