Photographing and sharing high-quality images just got a lot easier thanks to the latest super lightweight camera from FujiFilm. In a first for the award-winning X-Series family, the new FujiFilm X-E3 pairs with smart devices via Bluetooth, so jetsetters and explorers can wave sayonara to annoying cables and lengthy transfers.

The FujiFilm X-E3 is an ultra-compact mirrorless digital camera with outstanding image quality and expert handling. Its lightweight, ergonomic body and enhanced connectivity make it the newest contender for both amateur and pro photographers with a bit of wanderlust.

Boasting a 24.3 megapixel revolutionary sensor (APS-C sized X-TransTM CMOS III) and an X-Processor Pro image processing engine, the X-E3 is a powerhouse that results in exceptional image quality and FujiFilm’s famous colour reproduction.

Auto mode on the X-E3 can choose the optimum settings for any given scene, meaning photographers who are just starting out will be able to shoot like pros. Thanks to the newly developed image recognition algorithm, the X-E3’s auto-focus is able to track moving subjects twice as fast as previous models. In addition, the X-E3 can also track moving subjects of half the size as before.

Capable of recording both Full HD and 4K video using the X-Series’ advanced Film Simulation modes, the X-E3 is not just for stills photography.

The X-E3 features a high-resolution LCD monitor with a 3.0-inch touchscreen panel display and a host of innovative functions including pinch zoom and swipe and flick capabilities. It is fully compatible with the line-up of 25 FUJINON XF lenses for the ultimate level of versatility.

New Zealand product and marketing manager Magdalena McLean says the new camera is the perfect companion for everyday use and travel photography.

“All X-Series cameras are made based on user feedback, extensive testing and revolutionary design. The new X-E3’s Bluetooth pairing means professional quality shots can be transferred to a phone or tablet and uploaded to social media within moments.

“It is lightweight, has a grip-shaped design and at only 337 grams it is ideal to take away on holiday as well as on-the-go for everyday shooting,” says McLean.

Also announced was the release of the FUJINON XF80mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro Lens, which is perfect for close-up nature and flower photography. This new lens, driven by a linear motor for fast and silent auto focus, features the focal length equivalent to 122mm and supports hand-held shooting thanks to the Optical Image Stabiliser system which combats shift shake.
