Following the release DjRUM’s remix for his upcoming track, Trying Too Clever, enigmatic new artist, Jack Herer has enlisted Shy One for a rework of Walking pastime.

Like Trying too Clever, Walking Pastime is taken from Jack Herer’s upcoming album, which is releasing later this year.  With his identity yet to be uncovered, the remix package aims to reveal parts of his story with every rework that is  released.

DjRUM dropped the first last week – earning props from Asquith, India Jordan, Effy and more –  highlighting clues and co-ordinations on his social media which could be entered on the mysterious artist’s website to reveal parts of his story. With Shy One following suit, and DJ Boring expected to do the same next week with the release of his own rework, the backing from esteemed producers has led the circuit to ponder over who this might be.

Jack Herer - Shy One Remix

Londoner, Shy One, is a leader within the underground dance scene. An early career saw her present on community radio aged 13, before she went onto have her own shows on Balami, Rinse FM and NTS. Her style is known to straddle between genres, spinning Hip-Hop, Jazz and West-London Broken Beat, paying homage to a wide span of cultural influences, which is echoed in her own releases and performances.

Putting her unique style onto Walking Pastime, Shy One antlers the release into a broken beat weapon. Featuring additions of chopping synth structures and funky rhythms, her remix is a vast comparison to the piano-lead original. With a DJ Boring remix on the way, Jack Herer and his remix package are one to get clued up on.

Jack Herer– Walking Pastime (Shy One remix) is out now.
