Indie-electronic duo DUAL are launching a brand-new music video for their track ‘Two Hands Up’.

The duo, made up of lead vocalist Maurice Miller and guitarist Jamie Pyne, could not be more excited for the drop – their 5th video to date.

The video was directed by Emmy award winning Kiwi filmmaker, Sam Kristofski. Well known for his own unique style having done videos for Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Tame Impala, BROODS, POND, Miami Horror, Kody Nielson – he’s also worked with iconic Kiwi musicians including the likes of Bic Runga and Shapeshifter.

Duo - Two Hands

The ‘Two Hands Up’ was filmed on locations across the North Island of New Zealand. On the filming process, member Jamie Pyne said:

“We’ve always loved Sam’s videos, he’s a mysterious film genius. So we were stoked when we sent him the song and he replied and was into it”.

It was tough with lockdowns, however the duo managed to record a bunch of cool shots around the North Island. They found a beautiful 70s lake boat called Norma Jean “Marilyn Monroe” and the owners agreed to hire it out. Noel the owner even makes a cameo. They also tracked down an ex-Sergeant of 30 years who runs his own police museum who supplied an 1980s Falcon Police car.

Duo - Two Hands

The track ‘Two Hands Up’ which was release early 2021 was created as the duo strove to release music that was ‘high energy and up lifting’ after the year that was 2020. It was all about getting people up and moving and feeling good.

Now we find ourselves again in a time like we are now, and the video drop could not be timelier as it is something, DUAL hopes will bring a smile to Kiwis faces.
