Bugs, Daffy, Porky Pig and even Marvin the Martian take on the basketball court once more after 25 years since the original Space Jam. Oh and LeBron James joins them too.

Space Jam: A New Legacy sees the king of the courts LeBron James in a pseudo family setting as he trains his two sons in the art of Basketball.

His youngest, Dominic “Dom” James (Cedric Joe) is just not in to his father’s legacy and dream of making him and his brother the next generation of Basketball superstars. Instead Dom is more creative and technically minded, having built his own video game.

Space Jam: A New Legacy

Meanwhile back at the Warner Bros. head office an A.I. algorithm who feels unappreciated goes rogue and dreams of gaining the fame and notoriety he feels he deserves.

Calling himself Al-G Rhythm (Don Cheadle) he tries to get LeBron James to accept a marketing based pitch where James’ 3D scanned and placed in to any form of media.

James declines.

Now pissed off Al-G Rhythm decides that James will be apart of his nefarious plan whether he likes it or not.

By manipulating his youngest son Al-G Rhythm pulls in both James and Dom into the virtual world of Warner Bros. and challenges James to a Basketball match that Al controls.

Space Jam: A New Legacy

The game is based on Dom’s video game, which sees James unfamiliar with how it’s played and it’s not until he accepts to be more, well, open minded (or Looney) that he can win back the freedom for himself, Dom and the rest of his family.

James and Bugs round up the rest of the Looney tunes characters, who themselves have entered other warner Bros worlds and forms a team called the Tune Squad.

Space Jam: A New Legacy not only sees the entire cast of Looney Tunes and a lot of throw backs to 1996’s Space Jam but the entire Warner bros character roster from the past 50+ years.

A multi-reality mix of real world, CGI and animation this is a must see film, regardless if you’ve not seen the original.

Space Jam: A New Legacy is Space Jam for a new generation.
